Virgin Islands Snowman?… Sandman!

The weather in the Virgin Islands is consistently warm year round. November through January one can expect temperatures in the low 80s. Of course it doesn’t snow here. So how do you build a Snowman in the Virgin Islands? Well the closest thing to lots of white stuff lying around would be sand! So how about a Sandman!

Directions:

  1. Think about your favorite beaches in the Virgin Islands.
  2. Consider the sand type and texture at your favorites and pick the one with sand most favorable to building sand sculptures.
  3. Head to the beach with beach gear, towel, sunblock, hat and kids sandcastle building shovels and pail. Oh don’t forget a carrot for your sandman’s nose!
  4. At the beach you can try building your sandman standing upright or you could build one lying down, maybe catching a tan!
  5. Use beach rocks for eyes, mouth and buttons.
  6. Add the carrot nose.
  7. No need for a scarf, some surf trunks would be great. If it’s a sandwoman you could use some seagrape tree leaves for the bikini!
  8. A couple sticks for arms.
  9. Add a straw hat, maybe a Santa hat to make it more festive, and some sunglasses.
  10. Congrats, you’ve got yourself a Virgin Islands “Snowman”!
