St. Thomas Beaches Secret Harbor

Secret Harbor

Secret Harbor
Secret Harbor is a small, lovely beach. Nestled in a quiet, protected bay the water is usually very calm; perfect for swimming. Snorkeling is good along the rocky coastline on the right side. Palm trees are scattered along the shoreline giving the beach a very tropical feel; hammocks suspended between the palms help to enhance the atmosphere. A floating raft anchored in the middle of the bay is great for laying on and catching some rays. Children enjoy the raft as well; swimming out to it, climbing on and jumping off. Secret Harbor is home to the Secret Harbor Resort. A great restaurant and nice beach bar are available. Secret Harbor is a great beach for snorkeling, swimming, having lunch, a few drinks and relaxing!

Best beach on STT

Beautiful beach, great sunsets, the raft, the snorkeling (both right AND left sides) the iguanas. Yes, there are some rocks, but lots of sandy parts, too. I've seen sanddollars, urchins, rays of all kinds, starfish, turtles, a nurse shark, lobsters, lots of stuff. Just gorgeous here!!

Best overall on St. Thomas

I've stayed at Secret Harbour four times in the past 15 years. I've also stayed at Sapphire Beach resort as well as on St. John's. Secret Harbour has the best to offer overall. It is the best swimming/snorkeling beach (my wife and I stayed this June and saw a lobster, squid, a school of large tarpon, barracuda, many tropical fish, a conch, a ray, and a sea turtle. It's a quiet locale, not many people, and the accommodations are nice. We've also visited St. Lucia, Barbados, Bermuda, and St. Martin and always feel that Secret Harbour is the best place to go!

Secret Harbor

The hotel was starting to renovate which would help the older suites on top of the hill. The restaurant was great, the help was good, but the beach was pretty stony.

Enjoyable.

Small beach, pretty. Hotel has chairs spaced out over much of the shore that is shaded by palm trees so as non-hotel guests we were questioning were to spread our towels and still get shade without being right next to someone else. Was hot and water looked inviting so got over that issue quickly. Calm water for swimming. There were some rocky spots scattered around in the water so had to navigate around walking on them. Snorkeling was good along the right side. Largely sandy shore, some pebbles on one side. Enjoyable time.
