St. Thomas Beaches Dorothea Bay

Dorothea Bay

Dorothea Bay
Dorothea Bay has a very tropical atmosphere; lush green hills surround the wind blown beach. It is usually scarcely populated to unpopulated. Waves crash against the rocky coast and palm trees sway in the strong ocean breeze creating a seemingly intense beach scene, however the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and is perfect for dreaming, thinking or meditating. A small residential condo development is located on the beach. No amenities are available.

Natural Beauty

Water was rough, not appropriate for swimming. Shoreline had various sizes of rocks and gravel from tiny to say a foot long and some sand. Palm trees and seagrape trees give a little natural shade. Beach was unpopulated; there were a few residents from the neighboring condos walking around the property. Very quiet except for the waves and wind. This isn't a swimming or laying out to tan type of beach. More of a spot where someone might come if they wanted some inspiration for painting waves crashing on rocks or to play some acustic guitar while chilling out. Very natural look and feel, beautiful.
