Stayed on St Thomas and ferried over to St John two days. At Trunk Bay if you venture 50 or 100 feet past the snorkle trail, there is even more unwater coral formations and a few more varieties of fish. If you travel to the USVI, you should not miss swimming and snorkling at Trunk Bay. Best beach and clearest water I have ever seen. Life guards make you feel safe and okay to swim all the way around the coral island. The sea grape trees offer great shade but are taken early. Excellent place for children to play.

My wife and I spent 10 days in St John back in July 2012. We dove all over the world and never have had more fun than with Cruz Bay Watersports. We used them for 6 dives and 1 day trip to BVI's.
The divemasters catered each trip to suit the divers skill set. The reef looked great and life was abundant. It was some of the most comfortable diving I've been on since being certified in 1991.
The day trip to White Bay BVI's was such a good idea and great value. The crew took us to a nice snorkel spot on our way to Foxy's and lunch was ready shortly after arriving. The 3rd stop was the Soggy Dollar Bar and painkillers. Overall a great relaxing day with a fun loving crew. Can't wait to plan another trip.

Let me preface this review with the thought that I am a little reluctant to do so as I selfishly would rather this great cottage remain a secret! We stayed at Reef Bay cottage for 8 days in the end of Jan '12. Upon our arrival at the cottage we met Seng (our "hostess") who immediately made us feel at home and familiarized us with the cottage and amenities of the property. The cottage is set up perfectly for a couple with room for family or other guests with the optional downstairs suite. The cottage appears to be new and very clean, all the furnishings and decor are done very tastefully and in keeping with the caribbean theme. Another pleasant surprise upon our arrival was that a new deck had been built off the front of the cottage affording plenty of room to sit outside and take in the great views of Reef Bay (we had fun watching the surfers in the water of Reef Bay) and Rams Head.

This was undoubtedly the most well equipped rental we have seen in our many times renting in St John, no detail was missed from the toiletries in the bathroom (great outdoor shower) and coffee and seasonings in the kitchen (all high end new appliances) to all the necessities to use the new duet washer/dryer in the laundry provided on the lower level of the cottage. We were a little concerned when booking about the proximity of the cottage and pool to the main house, upon arrival the cottage is totally separate from the main residence and you enter the driveway to the cottage from a different road than the main house, you really are unaware of the main residence from the cottage thanks to the great landscaping and layout. Pool area (beautiful) is close to the main house up a stairway from the cottage, but privacy was never an issue as guests have exclusive use of the pool.

Other than checking in we never saw our hosts, other than a small issue with the water that was fixed immediately. I would absolutely recommend this cottage for a couple or more if renting the additional downstairs suite. The cottage is about 10 mins to Cruz Bay on paved roads, also great path to Reef Bay is a 5 min walk away. We have already re booked for winter 2013!

We have gone with Big Blue several times and each year look forwrd to coming back again.
This time Capt Mindy was at the helm and with an upgraded boat called Gypsea Girl. The best boat around in it's price range. Comfortable and spacious! With a nice sunbed for my wife and lots of shade for me and the kids. Capt Mindy is a top class captain and layed back island girl! She is very knowledgable and is obviously passionate about her work. She made us feel like family and took excellent care of us. Can't wait for next years trip. The whole family is still buzzing about our great day with Big Blue excursions.

My husband and I were married in St. John, USVI this April. Mary was both our wedding coordinator and officiant - I have no idea what we would have done without her! She made sure that our wedding had the best of everything (venues, vendors, etc) that St. John has to offer, and that the ceremony itself was perfect. Thanks to Mary our wedding was everything that we dreamed of - gorgeous, relaxing, and incredibly romantic! We would highly recommend Island Style Weddings to anyone getting married in the US Virgin Islands! Thank you, Mary!

The view from the beach is stunning, the view from the water back toward to beach is tropical bliss.

The powder sand beaches are soft on your feet--no coral or urchins in the swimming area.

The beach area is long, not wide, so get there early to nab a good spot.

We went last spring with our teenaged kids and all four of us played in the water for three hours, just swimming and surfing the waves.

My husband and I found our tent cabin to be extremely clean and quite comfortable. We had a beautiful view of Maho Bay from the hillside and we were only steps from the beautiful white beach. Aside from the beach being steps from our door we were able to enjoy a day sail/snorkel with some of the other guests. We even found great snorkeling right off the beach around the rocks. Maho is not for you if you are looking for 1st class. Being built on the side of a hill you do have to lug your bags up and down stairs. The laundry and store are also at the top of the hill as is the restaurant. Maho also recycles everything and everyone shares community bath houses. So if you are earth friendly, looking to see the sights on a budget and like friendly people. Give it a try and don't forget your flashlight!

Not a place where you'd plan to go for a 'beach day'. You can rent a dinghy here from Noah's Little Arks or hang out at the Beach Bar, etc. There are always lots of boats along the shore line - rental boats, etc. The 'people ferry' docks here. It's a fun place to watch people coming and going. Our son likes to splash around in the water there while we grab lunch/drinks at the Beach Bar occasionally.
