The plantation great house is considered one of the most beautiful restorations on the island. The property around the building is a designated wildlife sanctuary. Visits/tours are possible to the grounds and restored buildings with the exception of the interior of the great house.

Frederiksted was established in 1751 and it is the second largest town in St. Croix. It is a historic town that is easy to explore. Federiksted is built in a Victorian style; this was the style chosen after the original buildings were destroyed in a fire in 1758. Several restarurants and shops are located along the narrow streets. Fort Frederik and other historic sites are great to visit.

Government House is an imposing building located on the lower King Street area and is hard to miss. A large welcoming arm staircase graces the entrance of the building and leads up to an arch bearing the date 1830.

The tranquil location of Point Udall offers you a beautiful view of the sea. Special ceremonies were held at Point Udall at the beginning of the millennium as the sun rose on the first day of 2000 on the most easternmost of American soils in the western hemisphere. Salt River is the only documented site under the U.S. Flag where Christopher Columbus' fleet landed on the voyage of 1493 to the New World. Columbus had spotted a settlement on the shores of Salt River and sent a group to explore and look for potable water. A skirmish...

The simple but pretty rectangular building directly across from the Fort's main entrance road was once the Lord God of Sabaoth Church. It was built in the early 1750's by the Danish West India and Guinea Company. The church was consecrated in 1753. The baroque tower and cupola were added about forty years later. The Steeple Building was St. Croix’s first Lutheran Church. Later the structure was used as a military bakery, community hall,...
