 The cost of living in the Virgin Islands is higher than average
costs in cities across the US mainland. Recent documents published
by the Virgin Islands Legislature estimated that the cost of
living in the Virgin Islands is on average 33% higher then most US
jurisdictions.
The cost of living is also high when compared to the per
capita income. The same publication by the
Virgin Islands Legislature before mentioned, states that the Virgin Islands has the
third lowest wage offerings of US jurisdictions.
