Caravelle Hotel & Casino
Updated November 3: Caravelle Hotel & Casino will be housing relief workers and emergency personnel through April 30, 2018. The property will close on May 1, 2018 to begin major repairs from Hurricane Maria and reopen for business on September 1, 2018. Rumrunners Restaurant, Big Beard’s Adventure Tours and the Caravelle Casino are open and will remain open while the hotel is closed for repairs.
Caravelle Hotel & Casino will open online reservations including OTA’s and travel agent bookings from November 6, 2017 for stays beginning September 1, 2018. Interested travelers should call the hotel at 800-524-0410 or 340-773-0687 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss travel, availability and rates.
Club Comanche Hotel St. Croix
Club Comanche Hotel St. Croix reopened on September 26, 2017. Guests may contact reservations at 888-406-8030.
Cottages by the Sea
No part of Cottages by the Sea needs to be rebuilt; however, there are repairs and cleanup to be made. The property is waiting for electricity and water to be restored. Guests may assume that all future reservations after October 1, 2017, are secure unless advised otherwise. The property will contact guests if future reservations cannot be accommodated.
Divi Carina Bay Resort & Casino
Update: Oct. 19. After a review of the damage to Divi Carina Bay, resort management has made the decision to reopen in May 2018, pending construction or supply delays. Please contact the resort via email at EC@divicarina.com for reservations booked directly on the website or by phone. Divi will reach out to travelers with the earliest arrival dates first. For reservations booked through a third-party provider, please contact them directly to cancel the reservation and determine their cancellation policy.
Please note: Divi Carina Bay Casino will reopen mid-December.
Open and accepting guests.
The Fred made it through the recent hurricanes relatively unscathed. The planned opening date of December 1, 2017, has been delayed. Once power has been restored to Frederiksted the hotel is set to open its doors to relief workers but since the pool, restaurant and bar are significantly delayed, the hotel will not be prepared to accept regular guests until sometime after January 1, 2018. The Fred will provide updates related to the revised opening date as information becomes available. Hotel on the Cay
Hotel on the Cay is currently without power. Management will provide updates as they become available. Guests that have current reservations for stays until November 30 are asked to contact their booking source or our reservations department at email@example.com or 855-654-0301. Timeshare owners should log into the Hotel on the Cay portal for latest information regarding units/weeks.
Palms at Pelican Cove
The hotel is closed until further notice. Assessment is continuing with a view to recovery and eventual reopening. Emails may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org but due to inconsistent Internet connectivity, the property cannot guarantee how quickly customers will receive a response.
Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort & Spa
Updated November 3: The property will be accepting reservations from April 1, 2018. All cancellations will be waived through March 31, 2018. Guests may have up to one year to rebook from their original arrival date at the same rate.
Sand Castle on the Beach
Sand Castle is open and ready to welcome guests. Beach Side Cafe is open daily. For more information, call: 340-772-8295.
The resort will be closed for the 2017/2018 season.
Concordia Eco Resort
Concordia Eco Resort is closed for the remainder of 2017 and 2018. When communications have resumed, the resort’s reservations team will contact travelers to refund deposits.
Electricity has been restored (full AC, as well as refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms, and the pool is full and inviting), the landscaping is bouncing back with new growth and flowering bushes, and the resort is fully open. During the week of November 5, 2017, the property is providing accommodations to relief workers, as well as leisure travelers and homeowners inspecting and repairing their damaged properties. Gallows Point Resort
The property fared relatively well and is currently being used to house relief personnel. There is a working generator and management plans to be open for guests by Thanksgiving and fully operational by Christmas Eve. Guests who previously booked reservations during this time may reschedule or cancel their trip without penalty before December 15, 2017. As soon as the property’s phone lines and internet access are restored, the hotel will be reaching out to guests individually regarding reservations.
Grande Bay Resort
Assessments to the property and rooms are being conducted. Reservations through December 31, 2017 will be cancelled and full refunds processed for Grande Bay Resort & Residence Club guests only, once the reservation system is functional. For reservations booked through VRBO, or directly with private owners, please contact them regarding the status of your booking.
Hotel Cruz Bay (Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel)
The property has been housing relief workers but also has vacancies for leisure guests. The hotel has power and complimentary Wi-Fi. Guests can contact the property at email@example.com or 340-642-1702. Guests may also reserve directly online via the hotel’s website: www.hotelcruzbay.com.
The Inn at Tamarind Court
The Inn at Tamarind Court is closed. The property is in the process of rebuilding. Travelers who have made a deposit can send deposit refund questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Westin St. John Resort & Villas
Due to the significant impact of Hurricane Irma, The Westin St. John Resort & Villas will be closed until further notice. All reservations through 2018 have been cancelled and no new reservations are being accepted at this time. Management hopes to reopen the resort by Q3 of 2018.
At Home in the Tropics Bed & Breakfast Inn
The property is accepting reservations for stays beginning November 10, 2017. Reservations can be be booked on the website (www.athomeinthetropics.com). Travelers can also send a message via Facebook (www.facebook.com/AtHomeInTheTropics) or call the temporary cell number at 340-514-7943.
Bellavista Bed & Breakfast
The property survived Hurricanes Irma and Maria with minimal damage and anticipates being ready to welcome guests on or around December 1, 2017.
The property is housing guests in need and a multitude of workers trying to help others on St. Thomas. Anticipated re-opening date is June 2018.
Bluebeard’s Castle Resort
Everyone who was onsite is safe. The property has sustained major damage, which is currently being assessed.
Blue Sandcastle Villas
Updated November 7: The luxury villas in the Blue Sandcastle Villas portfolio are open to host leisure guests as well as relief workers. This includes: The Blue Sandcastle, Pavilions & Pools Villa, Villa Odeon, Salty Sway, and 20 additional properties, all of which have electricity and water. Emerald Beach Resort
The hotel has experienced cosmetic damage, and its phone and Internet systems have been down, but all major structures are okay. All guests have been evacuated and Emerald Beach is currently housing FEMA and other hurricane relief workers. The property will not be taking hotel guests until mid-November. Information will be shared as it becomes available.
Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort
The resort is currently closed and not accepting new reservations through 2018.
The Green Iguana
The hotel suffered damage as a result of Hurricane Irma and currently is not open for guests. As the damage is assessed and the property undergoes repairs, the property hopes to announce a reopening date soon. Guests who have reservations through December 31, 2017 and have not been contacted should call the office. Internet and telephone service are operational.
Island Dream Vacations
Updated November 8: Villa Viento, a luxurious 5 bedroom/5.5 bath on the Peterborg Peninsula of St. Thomas, has all amenities available and will be ready to accommodate leisure guests around mid-January 2018. Condo rentals at Sapphire Beach Resort will be available when power is restored to the property. The three condominium rentals at Cowpet Bay East Resort will be unavailable until Summer 2018. Lindbergh Bay Hotel and Villas
The property is currently being assessed. Management will provide updates as they become available.
Point Pleasant Resort
The resort has extended its closure and canceled all reservations through December 15. Affected guests have been notified. Travelers in this group are asked to contact the resort directly at email@example.com for further assistance.
Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas
Due to the recent hurricanes, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas is temporarily not accepting new reservations. Efforts are underway to restore operations as quickly as possible. Sapphire Beach Resort Condominiums
Updated November 7: The resort is need of power restoration and is in the process of clean-up and other rehabilitation. Pending the return of electricity, the property may be able to welcome guests around Thanksgiving.
Secret Harbour Beach Resort
Without phone service or power (other than a generator), the resort is closed to stayover guests, but is currently housing some first response personnel. The resort is carrying out repairs and plans to reopen in full as soon as power and phone service are restored. Power restoration is estimated to occur in November. Secret Harbour’s restaurant is currently open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and the dive shop is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sugar Bay Resort & Spa

Updated November 10: Windward Passage Hotel, located downtown with a view of Charlotte Amalie Harbor, has rooms available for Small Business Administration and other recovery and relief groups, and business owners. All rooms feature free hearty Continental Breakfast in the Courtyard, power, water, Wi-Fi, and mini refrigerators. Rooms with air conditioning are based on availability. The restaurant is closed for lunch and dinner, however there are restaurants open within walking distance. The bar will be opening soon!
