black chickens where in the world did they come from? I live in the Mid-west & have never seen a black chicken!!! There is a large tree by the bridge to no where and it was full of Roosters! If you live on the Island do you capture them for dinner? what about their eggs? I love the Cat Cafes, are they safe now? Can I bring kitty treats? My cats come running for Greenies...we call them cookies. They are found all over the world, are not rare and I'm sure there are some somewhere in the Mid-West (although they do a bit better in warmer climates)

There are black skin,meat,bone chickens that do not necessarily have black feathers:

Edited to say: No, people don't really eat the street chickens in general. They roam free and are scrawny. I suppose people have caught them to eat, but I wouldn't eat one. They do lay eggs but unless you have a flock in your yard and you know where they keep their nests, then generally street chicken eggs are not eaten either (unless by stray dogs or cats). I used to have a flock of Chickens in the yard that just came with the property I rented.
