Good Morning All!

I would like to meet other people who dance Zouk Lambada/Kizomba and Salsa! Even if you don't dance, if you know someone who does please pass the message on and ask the person to get in touch with me.

I live on St. Thomas. But I am interested in meeting people from all four islands (Water Island included).

Hey rise,

I'm going to be in STJ next week and I love salsa, zouk, kizomba and criolo music from cape verde. Are there any nice bars, restaurants or clubs to check out?

redliner966,

sadly there are no kizomba or zouk clubs, to my knowledge, or establishments where they are danced. i hoped someone on this board may have known otherwise. there is a salsa night (the only one in St. Thomas/St. John) at Tickles Bar and Restaurant (located in the Crown Bay Marina) on St. Thomas on Saturday nights, beginning at 8:00 pm. Please let me know if you are interested in going to Tickles!

Do you dance Salsa on1 or on2?

Soca is the popular form of music in the VI. Quelbe is the official music of the VI. You'll probably hear a mixture of reggae, soca, dancehall, etc if you go to some popular clubs or parties, but the French Caribbean influence isn't very big here. Maybe during Bastille Day you might hear more of it in Frenchtown.
