Romantic Restaurant with some local type food...

I am looking for a restaurant that is both romantic, and that serves some local West Indian type food and any other type cuisine, for example, Italian, French, etc.

The restaurant doesn't have to be too fancy or expensive.

The one person in the couple pretty much likes all types of cuisine, but the other is more inclined to like West Indian type food - seafood from the islands, food that is served on Food Day during Carnival, food serves in the Spanish restaurants around Stt, and food served in West Indian food trucks around Stt island.

Is there such a restaurant that fits the bill on Stt?

Thank you for the suggestions!

They've been to Victor's and I suggested chez le caribe.

I haven't heard of Cues Caribbean on gov't hill.

Does anyone know if Cuzzins is opened late on Friday and Saturday nights?

Sorry. My phone "corrected" chez to cues! I meant to recommend the same restaurant as the one Anita recommended - Chez le Caribe. Absolutely gorgeous place!

You should call Cuzzin's for their hours. I think they have season and summer hours that differ. 340-777-4711.

Thanks ms411 for the correction.

I will tell them to give Cuzzins a call about their weekend hours. I don't think they were ever there.

Would you recommend Cuzzins, if they are open late?

I am going to recommend "chez le caribe" again to them.

Thanks again, STT Resident, anita, and ms411 for the suggestions.

Cuzzin's isn't romantic, IMO. Maybe because there's no view. I have another idea, but I need to Google first. Where are your friends staying?

The one I was thinking about isn't open for dinner.

They will be staying at Sugar Bay.

I called Cuzzin's. They do not have dinner/night hours. They close at 4:30pm, even on the weekends. The reason I was thinking of Cuzzin's was because of their menu/food. I guess I will tell them to go there for lunch.

I remember years ago, they were open at night. Does anyone know why they don't have dinner hours? I'm thinking it's not cost effective.

ms411 if you find the out the name of the other restaurant that would be appreciated. But don't go out of your way.

I think "chez le carib" sounds like a good bet thumbs up

Or they might want to go to Victors to reminisce about their previous anniversary vacation wink

I'm just trying to suggest some different places, since there are so many new restaurants or renovated ones, since they have been here.

If you are looking for a romantic dining experience try Oceana overlooking the ocean behind Frenchtown. Pricy but worth it!
If you want some really good West Indian fare: try Petite Pump Room for lunch or dinner. They are upstairs above the downtown ferry terminal adjacent to Seaborne sea planes location.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I will print this page for them and they can make their own choices happy

I just hope by the time they arrive, there aren't any changes with restaurant change-overs or closings sad

You're welcome! Maybe they'll be open at night during season, but for the summer, unfortunately no. Great atmosphere, though, especially if you can get a seat by the windows or on the balcony so you can watch all the harbor activity.
