Day room for St John wedding

Hi,

Does anyone know how it works if a couple was to get married on St John but have their condo/villa on St Thomas? Are there "day rooms" available on St John for the bride to get dressed in and prepared for the ceremony? I doubt a villa will rent a room for a single day, correct? This will be mid-March 2013.

Thanks,

SCB

Mid march is the middle of high season. You might be able to rent a hotel room for one day/night.

March is our busiest month of the year. Most villas have a minimum stay of 7 days (and most of the condos as well). You can try the Westin and Grande Bay Resort. But I would get right on it! March is a month that books up early. Congrats!

Thanks Linda and Julie.
I was going to ask for more suggestions on hotels because all I could initially find were the big 3:
Westin
Caneel Bay
Gallows Point

But now, I've found Grande Bay and Sea Shore Allure

Do check out Caneel Bay as it really is a spectacular setting.
Gallows has a beautiful gazebo on the point for a wedding but high season equals high prices plus low availability.
Reserve what you want soon as well as the transportation or you won't get what you want.
Are you working with a wedding planner/co-ordinator?
Maybe you should look into it as trying to get things done long distance on your own may be daunting.

Thanks Alana.
No planner, we did everything ourselves already.
We're not having a big blown out "wedding" perse
But a ceremony with 2 witnesses we'll have tag along for the weekend.
The only thing left to decide is, rent a villa on STJ for a week and be done with it $$$$$
Or rent on STT but get a room for a day on STJ for "Staging" only $$

The ceremony will be on STJ

Staying in STJ is quite nice.
Check www.starvillas.com as they are nearby to Gallows Pt. and don't have Gallows prices.
They won't rent for 1 day in high season,
NO-ONE does at this time of year except for hotels so it might be better to get married and spend your honeymoon exploring and enjoying STJ.

There are many great wedding locations in St. Thomas. I see weddings at the Marriott, Smith Bay Beach, Sapphire Beach, and Magens all the time. It will make your wedding a lot easier and save you some money.

You might want to try VRBO.com vacation rental by owner, some St John rentals do show daily nightly rates and it might also be possible that there is a gap of a day or 2 in their existing reservations.

Congrats and good luck!
