Anybody know the recipe for the burgers at Crazy Cow?

They were good weren't they!!

All of their food was good but those burgers were yummy!

Don't forget the fries! I thought I was the only one that remembered that place. Whenever I would come to St. Thomas, that was my FIRST stop! Someone should reopen it!

all i remember is their taking fresh ground beef out, making the patty, and sprinkling on the (what? adobo criollo?)... real milk shakes... crispy fries, hot and fresh... and that was the spot to stop after a night of dancing!

A necessity any time of day or late night after checking out all the hot spots that there used to be down town..
They were yummy, especially with the grilled onions they would smother them with. I agree - great milkshakes, too.
Actually, all of their food was good! MMMMMMM!

They were delicious and I still miss them. I used to work next door on Raadet's Gade and ate there weekly, I'm embarrassed to say. Other fav was goat roti at Ideal [when it was crammed into that little alleyway], which I can thankfully still visit occasionally!

Crazy Cow's 'secret', if you want to try it out for yourself, was simply old-school lard. Try making big crispy fries deep-fried in lard sometime, or cook any meat in it. It'll take you back! Also makes great frosting, right, "old" Baked in the Sun?

FWIW, McDonald's fries lost their taste when they stopped using beef tallow. We lost the flavor and people are still getting fat. Lot of good the food police did on that one.

Enjoyed your discussion on the Crazy Cow. Back in the late 70's, I recall stumbling down the street from Fat City many times to have a late-night burger at the Crazy Cow...back when Tommy the Gimp was bartending at Fat City & Art Havel was bartending at Sib's!
