I haven't been to St. John since 2005, and have some questions for the board.

1.) How's the road to Lameshur these days?
2.) Is there a grocery store in Coral Bay?
3.) Are there any must do's?

Thanks for your advice.

You will be pleasantly surprised. It is paved almost all the way. It still has adventurous spots but nothing like it used to be. You will still find a mud "puddle" after a rain but no longer a question of "will we make it out of here if it rains???"

2.) Is there a grocery store in Coral Bay?

Two groceries in Coral Bay. Lily's Market and Love City Mini Mart.
My pick of the two is Love City. Don't let the outside appearance fool you. Packed with what you need and more reasonbly priced than Lily's. Look across the road from the dumpsters. It is the little building that looks like it should be a liquor store in a low rent part of town.

3.) Are there any must do's?
Of course!
Everybody's list is different though.

Enjoy your trip.

Road to Lameshur is much better. Not sure what you previously experienced but if you have a rented jeep you'll be fine.

As for grocery stores....Love City Market looks intimidating but they have tons of product they are located (as you head into Coral Bay) on the right after the now closed gas station. Lily's is probably the better of the two located in Cocaloba (sp?) plaza. Great deli, amazing wines, full liquor assortment, good produce section and pretty much everything you would need.

Must do's: Relax, unwind....and enjoy your vacation. are you into hiking? Do a rock scramble from Cruz Bay to Honeymoon beach!

We've been to STJ 8 years in a row...we know the island inside and out...If you want specifics let me know

Toes in the Sand,

Thanks for the advice!

The next line in the Van Halen classic is, "All I need is a beautiful girl. Oh Yeah!" Sorry, can't help you there.

Jill,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm into St. John. Been to a lot of places including Culebra and Puerto Rico in the past 8 years and nothing compares to St. John.

The beaches are amazing, even if you don't want to hike. I used to get amazed by Maho, which IMHO is one of the most beautiful spots in the world and yet it's so close you can almost touch the sand from the car as you drive by.

The snorkling is amazing. I just bought a GoPro and I'll post some video's of the trip.
