Coming back to STT on March 10th and staying at Blue Beards above Charlotte Amalie. Not renting a car this time, but still want to get to Coki Beach. Where is the nearest Dollar Ride or bus pick up? Is there one near the Pueblo in Havensight? Thanks.

I think the closest you'll find is at the bottom of Raphune Hill (Rte 38, close to the hospital).

You might be able to pick up one on the corner by the old age home-Lucinda Millian Home, when you cross the street after walking down the hill. Sometimes they drop off at that corner when making the right turn from the waterfront.

Or you can pick one up in the vicinity of Rainbow Kids/Vitraco Mall across the street from Pueblo and the bus stop.

Thanks for the input. I will ask at reception at Blue Beard's as well where the closest pick up is. I'm expecting to get a lot more exercise this time. It's been a few years since I walked back up that hill to Blue Beard's from the Green House, but it will be good exercise! It's been freezing here in Boston this year, so my 14 days in January just wasn't enough. Will be happy to be back on Island on March 10th!

Just wanted to report that I was able to walk 5 minutes down the hill to a bus stop in front of the old age home and catch the dollar ride. For $2 each way, I got to the head of the road that leads to Coki. A very easy walk from there to the most beautiful beach on island. It was great to find a more affordable way to get to the beach than rent a car every time I come to STT. Thanks for the information provided on this forum.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be staying Blue Beards for a week on June 2.

I'm happy you enjoyed your vacation and our wonderful beaches.

That's great you were able pick up the dollar ride close to your accommodations. I wasn't sure if they picked up there.

Can you please write a trip report with an emphasis on the safari dollar ride and other transportation services you might have used? So future vacationers can get a feel how the safari dollar ride works vs. renting a car. For example; how far was to the bus stop from your accommodations, how far you walked to your destination, how long did you wait for one, where else did you pick up one and get dropped off on island, what other transportation services you used, etc. Would like all points of view. Thanks in advance.
