Traveling through STT from SJU to MIA

Hello guys, sorry in advance if this isn't the correct place to post about this.

I am an airline employee and I'm currently in SJU. I work at the MIA airport and I'm taking a 7:00 JBU flight to STT tomorrow in order to get on the 8:35AM AA flight to MIA. (I only have stand by flight access and the SJU-MIA flights from AA are all overbooked except for the ones at STT)

My question is, once I deplane from JBU at STT, can I just walk right over to the AA gate or do I have to exit the terminal and go through security? I have no checked luggage so that wont be a problem.

You will most likely have to go through security as you will get out of the plane outside and have to walk outside before entering the airport.
