Event Details

Our Caribbean waters are home to many diverse marine animals such as corals and fish, though they are often not explored for fear of the unknown or lack of integration into existing school-based curriculum. Through this program, students can expect to learn the basics of swimming, how to snorkel, and properly identify marine life found in the Virgin Islands. This program is divided into 3 courses (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced), each designed specifically to cover different skills based on each child’s prior experience and knowledge about swimming and snorkeling.
Students in grades 1-12 are eligible to apply though we encourage interested persons to register at vimas.uvi.edu as there is a maximum number of 20 students that can be accepted per course. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for this program.
