Bluwater, how do you put a picture on a post like you have done for your trip reports?
I really like it when there are pictures included in trip reports. It helps to keep my interest to keep reading them.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool if people posted their favorite pictures from the USVI's. I took some, which I don't think are as good as I will get on my next trip, but I do have a favorite one.

If everyone just posted 1 picture, it wouldn't get too out of hand would it?

Bluwater, you can start and let us know how we do it!''

Hi Terri - This is a great topic. I'll have to give it some thought - not sure that I have a favorite picture right now - other than those of my family having a great time, which you all have already seen 🙂

Here are the instructions for getting photos into your post. The key to remember is that the photos have to already be on the internet somewhere - in photobucket or some other website where it can be viewed. You cannot simply upload it from your PC to VINOW. All you are doing, with these instructions below, is putting "code" on your post to tell VINOW to go find the picture wherever it is.

Putting Photos on your Forum Post:

Put the photos up on a website like Photobucket.com or Flicker.com.

Once your photos are up, select the photo you want to have in your post:

1. Click it once with the right mouse button and a window will open with options on it
2. Click the option for "properties" (it will be the bottom option)
3. The Properties window will then open and in the middle of that window you will see "Addres(URL"…..
4. Highlight and copy the address there
5. go back to the post on the forum and type after the address.
6. That's it! You have to repeat these steps for every photo you want to show.

What you type should look something like this:
- without hte spaces between the brackets and the copied address -I had to add those spaces so it wouldn't amek a link.

Also, sometimes you'll have to edit your post and take out spaces - if, after you submit your post, the pic still isn't showing but the link is there, make sure you have NO spaces between the brackets and the middle address for your picture.

Can't wait to see everyone's pics!!

This was our view from our room at Gallows Point. I think it captures the color of the water nicely. I can't wait to go back and get better ones!

Sunset St. John

Just for comparison. Sunset, Door Co. Wisconsin

Don't worry, I still like St. John better. There's no good snorkeling on the Great Lakes.

One question, do you have to pay to put your photo's on a site like photobucket?
Thanks everyone for the fantastic photo's. Can't wait to share ours when we get back............9 days!!! I know I said that already, but it just sank into my brain.

I put mine on Photobucket, which by the way is free. It is really easy to register and they give directions on how to download your pictures. I resized the picture using edit to the size for message boards (640 x 480) and saved that. Then I highlighted the img link at the bottom, right clicked on it, used copy, then pasted it in the post. Have the message board up ready to type a message and then copy that img link to the post. Preview your message and the picture should show up.
Does that make sense?

Thanks CG - I took it with a simple Cannon Sure Shot. Needed a polarized lens bad so I used my Maui Gem Sunglasses as a polarizer and shot the picture. When my wife saw the pic she wanted a pair of Maui Gems

Here is my favorite that I took at Maho and is my screen saver
