Horrible change. Fixing something which isn't broken sometimes just doesn't work.

Hi. We are indeed working on updates.

The first part was redesigning the website layout to work better with the various devices people are using to browse the internet these days whether it’s a computer or a mobile device, so keeping up with the changes in technology. We’ve been working on this for months behind the scenes, and made the layout changes today. Hopefully users on mobile devices find browsing the website easier with the updates. Feedback is welcome.

We are still working on things. So more to come.

Islander

Love it! It is working great, especially for those that keep up with technology and actually have a cell phone. Also on my main 24 inch monitor at work it is really smooth and clear. Those with a design background will understand and thank you for it. My only very, very slight gripe would be with Firefox again. I have my browser completely updated and on this design and the old design some things seem to get left out. Internet Explorer is fabulous though, as well as extremely easy on your phone! You no longer have to zoom in on your phone to click some of the links 😎 Thank you very much!

I hate change in general, so I don't like the changes. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. Please keep it fairly simple for those of us who are web-impaired!!

Ditto! We can all get used to things so as long as it remains simple for those of us that are not technologically inclined, in the least, so we should do okay.:-o

Thanks for the comments.

Beer - we found some things w Firefox, and we are working on them. If you don't mind listing the things you are noting as 'left out' on Firefox it would be appreciated. It might be things we missed.

Linda & Alana - trying our best to get it current and maintain ease of use for all users.

Linda, aside from not liking change in general - is there anything in particular that you dislike about the changes; are there things on the previous layout that you liked that aren't on the new layout for example.

Thank you.

All: this is a lot cleaner, smoother, easier to read for everyone, and yes, it will end up being so much better for "non-techie " people as well, just watch 🙂

Islander: thank you so much for doing this! It might be a day or two before I get the chance to pinpoint the firefox issues I saw, but in short it is fabulous user friendly on everything! I will pm Firefox issues when I get the chance, it might just be a conflict with advertising and their adblocker. Thank you again!

Right now I'm having to "back into" it. When I go to vinow.com on my drop down list, I get the new home page with a picture that isn't loading and I can't click into the forums. I have to go back to my drop down list and click on to the relocation forum and then to the vacation forum. Did that make sense?? Otherwise, content looks the same.

Linda - sounds like an issue with cookies. Need some information to help figure it out, sending you a PM. Thank you.

Safari is working just fine.
Nice job BTW. Fresh and clean.
Highlights the advertisers much better.

I liked that the old site let you hover over the topic and get a preview of the post. I can't seem to get that to work.

Other than that, it is fine. The internet changes all the time, we just get used to it!

Thanks

Sent you PM of Firefox versus Safari appearances.

I know some might have thought them tired but I do miss the banner photos

Hoping one of the new changes we see is easier downloading of photos. Any word on that?
