Spirit Airlines may offer cheap flights - if you can get online fast enough, type fast enough, hit the enter key fast enough.........to GET one of the cheap flights - but trying to actually COMMUNICATE with them either by phone or email is darn near (and thus far!) IMPOSSIBLE. I was perservering on hold for over 30 minutes only to have the call inexplicably dropped. I've searched and searched on their web site for a "Contact Us" that might provide an email address (I had to google and find on a different site their telephone number) to no avail. Does anyone have an email address for Spirit? And, has anyone emailed them and gotten a response? Thanks in advance!

No e-mail address, but if they are that hard to find or communicate with in more conventional formats, I would not hold out hope for any e-mail response other than the automatic;

"Thanks for contacting...your message is important to us...do not reply to this..."

Yeah, sure it is 🙁

FLBI:

Spirit's telephone number is 1-800-772-7117 (ask for a supervisor if you have a problem).

Their address is:

Spirit Airlines Corporate Office
2800 Executive Way
Miramar, Florida 33025

I couldn't find an e-mail address.

We've booked Spirit several times to STT and have never had a problem...we've always managed to get the special fares, as well. From Atlantic City, NJ to STT the most we've ever paid was $89. each way plus taxes/fees.

We've taken advantage of some very inexpensive flights from Tampa to STT. I signed up for the "Free Spirit" $9Fare (nominal annual fee allows "members" to be eligible for $9 fares). Spirit only allows one (unique) email address per club member. When my husband tried to book a smokin' cheap flight, the name of the person flying was automatically populated with my name and there is no ability to edit / change to my husband's name. The "fine print" on FAQ says the following:

Our unique frequent flyer program requires each member to have their own e-mail address. Members are identified not only by their FREE SPIRIT frequent flier number but also by their individual e-mail address. Spirit Airlines does not offer a "family" frequent flier account that allows family members to "bank" their miles together. Members may use either their FREE SPIRIT account number or e-mail address to log into spiritair.com to check mileage balance, book flights, view transaction history, request missing mileage, redeem flight miles and much more.

So, I think I'm screwed. But, if you go into FAQ and click on an actual question, the next screen will give you the opportunity to submit a question. Which, I have done. Considering my experience thus far, I will either be old and gray or Spirit will no longer exist by the time I expect to get a response. But, we'll see................

FLBI:

I'm not following you here.......when I book for the both of us I use my frequent flyer account number and book for two people. I'm then asked later in the reservation for the other name and frequent flyer number. Both of us get credit for the miles, but both of us have separate accounts with separate email addresses.

I assume that you tried to book your husband (only) on your account.....that probably won't work.

btw....we're currently waiting (patiently) for Spirit's next sale....for September/October. We've already booked our January trip on CO.

Right. When we are both able to travel together, we don't have a problem. However, my husband had an opportunity to go without me 🙁 and that's when we discovered the issue. I suppose Spirit is just trying to guard against someone making a business enterprise out of the cheap ticket prices and therefore strictly controlling the membership records but I do not understand why they would not allow both my husband and I to book trips independently. We are, after all, officially "joined" since 1993.

For those of you that haven't been screwed by Spirit yet, Tak heart, your turn will come. I cannot reach a real person re. Customer service. Like the rest of you I could find no email address. Any number that I caled said "Due to the high volume of calls, we are not taking any new calls, go to our website".

I feel like they inducted me into the Mile High Club, and didn't even offer mea cigarette when they were done. I can't even call them a "Mickey Mouse" airline 'cause that would be a real insult to the real Mickey.

I don't know why you can't seem to find Spirit's email address. Go to their web site and file an inquiry or complaint. I did so yesterday to claim a refund....they just called me back about an hour ago. Try their customer service number at 954-447-7828, listen to the recording and then press 3 for customer relations.

We have used Spirit several times from New Jersey to St. Thomas and have never had a problem. I just booked a Spirit special from Atlantic City NJ to Las Vegas for September for $44. each way or $88.00 round trip plus $20.50 taxes.

Hope this helps!

Good luck getting anyone to answer after pressing 3 for "customer relations." There's nothing but a rapid busy tone. What a joke!

Tried that....I am still on hold and the service rep keeps coming back stating that the supervisor will not be able to help me and that she has done everything possible. I just want an email receipt of my flight last month and the email I keep receiving is blank. I just want her to send it in a different format. Copy and paste it and email it again.. How hard is that? She is still refusing to get me a supervisor. Good thing I asked huh?

No. I never was able to speak to anyone. Email was not returned except by that automated machine that says "do not respond to this automated response". Spirit is cheap and they don't spend a dime on customer service. But, I will say that when I booked a flight, I accidently failed to "unclick" the radio dial that says I will be happy to pay that extra $$ for trip insurance - - - - NOT. I was able to finally figure out how to go online (it's actually a different company that does the ins) and remove the trip insurance option.......and saw the charge come off my Visa a month later. Not too bad.....I thought I would have one heck of a fight on my hands.

HELL NO !!!!! I have emailed, called 8 times but received only a busy signal everytime, and now realize what a bunch of crap 'Spirit Air' truly is ! I AGREE wholeheartedly with you - they are a bunch of cowards - carefully avoiding giving a phone # where they can be ACTUALLY reached nor have they replied to my email requesting a refund, other than with a 'form' reply which was of no help whatsoever. I have a disgusting taste in my mouth for this group and will announce it loud and clear to anyone who ever mentions joining up, hoping to save others from the frustration, high blood pressure rises, and now complete hatred for them. I want my $29.95 returned to me and realize that they are lower than whale shit and I will never be able to talk to an actual human being about it. Spirit Air, I've been told, is an affiliate of Delta and I will fly Air Tran instead of Delta from now on, and convert everyone and anyone else I can. If I AVOIDED customers, in my business, who were seeking a refund for being dissatisfied, I would be OUT of business, and I hope that happens to Spirit.

Does AirTran go to STT? I didn't see it in their list of flights.

In my forum posting on Jan. 10, 2008 ( yesterday) I erroneously stated that Spirit Airlines was affiliated with Delta...but I now stand corrected......I was remembering 'Song.' Sorry, Delta. Spirit still sucks. NO WAY to get thru to a customer service

I have attempted to contact a real person at Spirit" Corporate Office to no avail. The prompt indicates to press 3 to reach customer services and disconnects you. In an attempt to reach someone I press the other numbers only to get voice-mails . I leave messages which are not returned. I had spoken with a Maria several months ago because I landed in the Hospital with a life threatening condition and was unable to fly. I had booked the flight at 10.00AM on May 30th and at 11:))AM I was ambulanced to the Hospital. Meanwhile, my husband called spirit airlines to inform them that i could not travel and offered to submit validation of the fact that I was hospitalized. I remained in the hospital for 4 months. The reason fro my making the reservation in the first place was because my brother was dying in Fla; and I wanted very much to be there. I payed for my parents airfare but I was unable to travel. I finally reached a "Maria" in the President's' office who assured me that I had one year within which to use the ticket. I am trying now to use the ticket because of a Memorial Service being offered in Fla for my brother and all they keep telling me is that I only have a 183.00 voucher!!!!!! what kind of scam is that!!!!
I will never reserve with this ill reputable airline again. I will pursue this in another forum.
