After the wonderful gathering of residents and visitors alike at the Toad and Tart last August, it was decided to meet there again.This year we are planning Tuesday, August 18, from 6-9:30 pm. The cost is $20 per person for some yummy food with a cash bar. The restaurant is closed, so the whole place is ours.
Please post here if you will be joining us. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
My son's friend will be staying at our condo during that time. He will be on leave from Afghanistan, it would be great for hime to meet a few people while he is on island. I'll check and get back.

HA! You're not kidding, but the "Tart" who posted the sign is surely kidding!
Just the Tart's sense of humor. The food is great! She probably does stock some "warm beer" for fellow Brits, but she has plenty cold too.
Have to add, ExitZero, that if you were traveling in the OPPOSITE direction the sign from that direction said, "Leftovers and Road Kill." (Not kidding.)
Wish we could be there but I am Stateside - sorry Old Tart will miss you.

ExitZero, you should join us and get to sample some of the awful leftovers and road kill for yourself. Wash it down with some of that warm beer. Something about that grub keeps people going back for more.
I have nothing but kudos for the food there - especially the Lamb and the Turkey - today the sign had the road kill side out going my way home and I had to chuckle - not under any circumstances was I slamming her or the cuisine - just mentioning the sign for those not driving out east.

The evening's events have also been posted on the Relocation board, and amodford30 said to add two more to the list. I suppose this thread will be a good place to keep count, so the lovely proprieter of the Toad and Tart can plan accordingly.

We've got about 16 gathering so far, along with some of the Toad and Tart regulars. We haven't reached the cut-off number yet, so room for more.
I'm looking forward to seeing all who've signed on.
Sadly, we won't be down until September. It sounds like a blast!
