Well I am now a married woman and had an amazing two weeks in the usvi/bvi's!!!!

Highlights that I must mention!

Taco Tuesdays: Duffys Love Shack......SO MUCH FUN!!!! We drank and danced the night away! Plus the tacos were pretty good!

Secret Harbour/Blue Moon: Secret Harbour has a wonderful beach and pretty good snorkling! My "husband"-lol, saw a baracuda(sp), a few of us saw turtles, and lots of fishies! Secret Harbour Resort has VERY outdated rooms, but a few nice ones. We had about 13 rooms booked their full of wedding guests, some had very awful rooms and others had AMAZING rooms. I guess its luck of the draw! Ours was pretty outdated though. But I guess you cant beat the location can ya! The people who work at the resort were very helpful and did move us from our orginal room to a slightly nicer one.

Blue Moon: We hosted our cocktail party there and had such a wonderful time. Heather the night time restaurant manager is AWESOME and we loved Slater our bartender!!!! The cocktail/welcome party was booked from 6-9, but they let us hang out until around 11ish!!!! Cant say enough great things about the people there! We had some awesome food their too: coconut shrimp, thai chicken, and beef satay were all very yummy!

Gallows Point Resort: WONDERFUL, GREAT ROOMS- Beach, well there really isnt one! The pool is really tiny too! The location and rooms are whats nice! Plus they picked up all of our guests from the ferry, because we booked our wedding on their resort, how nice right! I would def stay there again!!!!!

ZoZo's- where we held our reception/cocktail hour.....THE MOST AMAZING PLACE EVER!!!! John the owner is so wonderful, the restuarant and lounge is just amazing, The food was insanely good. The view from upstairs is to die for! This was the nicest place we went to all week and I feel so lucky to have held the reception there, just wonderful!!!!!! Cant wait to go back, honestly this place far exceeded my highest expectations!

Coki Beach- SOOOOO fun to feed the fishies- I still cant believe how many fish surrounded me as I fed them the dog biscuit!!!!

Iggies- If you are traveling with a bunch of people go play some late night volleyball!!!! WE HAD A BLAST!!!! The ribbs suck though-lol!!!!! The burgers were ok!

OHHH THRIFTY CAR RENTAL IS AWFUL.......AWFUL! I cant say enough crappy things about this place! Totally awful experience!

The rest of our trip was spent at the BVI'S which I have plenty to mention as well, but considering this is the usvi forum I will just say that jost is gorgeous, virgin gorda has insane beaches, and tortolla has great bars(boomba shack)!

Overall.....a wonderful wedding and vacay!!! Great memories and I cant wait to come back!

Congratulations! I am so glad you had a wonderful wedding/honeymoon/vacation!

we stayed at SH last month, and I guess we got lucky, because our unit was terrific. (granite countertops, top end stainless steel appliances, nice cabinets etc) it was unit 112.

I am going to look up your report on the BVI's. I would like to visit Tortola and also spend a night on Jost someday. One day just didn't cut it for me!

I will be at Secret Harbor in July, and I hope we get a nice room. We are in a one room suite beach front. I will keep my fingers crossed.

we were in room 222.....ok, nothing special- a one bedroom beachfront! However the location and view were great!!!!

my grammy and bridesmaid were in two of the really nice rooms, 112 and 113 I think is what they were. Granite, stainless steel and so forth! I was way envious of their awesome rooms!!!

yes our unit was a 2-bedroom/2-bath beachfront, right next to Blue Moon. I have some pics here...

Thanks. We've stayed there 4 or 5 times on our way to St. John and it's getting a little worse for wear. The location and beach is great though. It's nice to hear some owners are updating their units.

I actually didnt write a trip report for the bvi's.....
But since some people have been asking for it, here is a brief run down!

Traveling to the BVI's via the ferry is sooo simple and great! The most beautiful views ever! The bvi's are just gorgeous and a place you must visit. My favorite island had to be jost!!!!

Our first destination to the bvi's landed us in Virgin Gorda(where we were supposed to stay an entire week)! HOWEVER, when we entered our hotel room at mango bay(our honeymoon headquarters) my stomach dropped to the middle of the freaking earth. I was SO disappointed with the quality of the room, the awful decor, the icky kitchen where bugs were coming up from the sink, and the teeny tiny sized shower(where no romance could ever occur), and the YUKCY BED!!!!! We new instantly we could not stay there.......

We had paid a 3 night deposit, however the manager there refunded our money for two nights as we had to spend our first night there......mango bay is for a rustic traveler!

AS FOR VIRGIN GORDA- OMG BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Must spend a day there, and I dont think you would need anymore really. Hit savanah bay, drive the island as you MUST have a car there, do the baths and devils bay!!!!! Top of the baths restuarant is ok, nothing special though. Honestly savanah bay is the most gorgeous beach in the world!!!!!

ok will continue report later today......

Congratulations!!!!
How lucky for you to have been able to go to more than one Island and do so much!
First time I have heard someone say to rent a car on Virgin Gorda, that is a good tip.
Also thanks for the feedback on Thrifty, they really are making a name for themselves. 🙁 Too bad.

Thanks for sharing your trip report with us! 🙂

YES.....RENTING A CAR IS A MUST FOR ALL THE BVI'S! Especially on virgin gorda, as its very serene and there are some gorgeous overlooks from the top of the island! Its a very beautiful island, and I would have loved to have stayed at another resort there, the beaches are insane, white beaches, crystal clear water, great snorkling!!!!

Jost....we are def planning a trip back there! I just need to find a place to stay on the small friendly island! As the folks on jost are the friendliest I have met......not sure why, but this island just sparkles!

Places to see/eat/visit in Jost:

1. Corsairs for lunch! Great menu, so friendly, awesome view! The chicken sandwhich is sooo yummy! Plus they sell this great hot sauce- no label on the bottle- but so flavorful! We brought one back with us and I wish I would have bought two!

2. Spend the day at the soggy dollar beach, grab a drink and walk way down the beach away from the people at the bar!!!! GET A PAIN KILLER......Pusser's rum is way better in painkillers then the rum in the usvi! I am not a rum person by any means, but pussers rum in painkillers is insanely flavorful and the only way to have a pain killer in my oppion!

3. Last but not least visit Foxy's for a drink before you leave the island, unless you are lucky enough to spend the night on the island! The guys at the bar cut down a HUGE coconut for me, used a mashetti(SP) AND CUT THE DARN THING OPEN, handed me a straw and their I sipped from a massive coconut on the beaches of jost! PLUS they also cut down a mango for me and made me the yummiest YUMMIEST mando daquir in the WORLD! FOXY'S was the best bar we went to ALL TRIP!

4. PLAN A TRIP BACK!

Will post on tortolla shortly!
