Hi there,

Can anyone reco the best route from airport to Saphire Beach Resort?

We arrive 3 pm on a Sunday and by the time we get the rental car from Avis and baggage I would think it would be later 5 pm and since it gets dark earlier..I would like to get to Saphire asap..

Is it better to follow signs from airport to route 38 all the way to Redhook and then past Redhook. I have to stop at Pools and PAvilions inorder to checkin and get my keys before I can even go to Saphire. Pools and PAvilion is a little further up than Saphire?

I see on the map a route that goes in middle of island pass tutu but I think that's probably not the best way?

Also..since it would probably be late and we would probably be kind of tired to truly go out that night..is there a "fast food" around that we can go to in Red Hook? Like a subway or Mcdonalds or Wendys--just something quick and most importantly since my son has bad milk, egg, and nuts allergies..something he can eat (so pizza is not on the list)..

Thanks.

There are two routes to take, 30 which goes into 32 and then 38 which will take you through Red Hook and into Sapphire; and 38 which will take you past Tutu Park Mall and all the way through to Sapphire before Red Hook. It's six of one and half a dozen of the other where distance and time are concerned but my preference (and your best bet) is Rte 38 all the way through. You go right by a McD in Tutu, a Wendy's across the street from it and a Subway franchise in the Mall itself. P&P is on Rte 38 before you get to Sapphire. Hope that helps.

There are many food options in Red Hook, including Senor Pizza which will deliver on the east end.

Senor Pizza is good but OP specifically said her son can't eat pizza.

There are so many options for food in Red Hook as well as restaurants at both Pavillions and Pools and Sapphire. Don't know what time the BBQ truck there at Sapphire closes for business or if they run out of food by a given time.

STT;

There's a Wendy's across from the McDonalds at TUTU?

Did you mean to say KFC?

The only Wendy's that I know of is near Havensight.

Additionally, Panga, the new waterfront restaurant at the Point Pleasant Resort is open.

On a Sunday with a flight arrival of 3PM and no town/commuter traffic, 25 minutes or possibly even less (remember our speed limit is 35MPH and most of your driving will be in the 25-30 range). PP is 5 minutes from Sapphire. Happy Holidays to you too!

We like that 38 route alot. Keeps you away from The cruise ship travel. It may be a little confusing, but make sure your navigator keeps their eyes open and directs you.

I wouldn't go any other way anymore.

We got in late and went to Red Hook. We dropped our bags and went out. It was a long day. There are plenty of places to eat there.
