Ditto A. Davis,
I have a real problem with them charging gratuity for one person having a beer... or whatever! Mine to give and I always do.

STT Resident:

Fungi's DOES NOT add in a gratuity......we were there in October (2008) and last night (January 7th) and a tip was not added into the bill.

OIT:

You're right....never had a bad burger on STT.

Also, watch for STT Resident's "yard sales"....she makes a great burger at a great price!

I had a burger this afternoon at Secret Harbor -- great view - mediocre burger - terrible fries - cold beer - fine service.

I once had sushi at the sushi bar in Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. When the credit card receipt came to me to sign, it showed a line with 18% tip added. But guess what? they had a second line that said extra tip that was left for me to decide! What a trip! I usually will tip around 20%, so they lost on me that day.

Anita, that's Shipwreck Landing in STJ!

Which island?

And Shipwreck Tavern St. Thomas, are they still automatically adding on the gratuity even for one person?

On St. Croix, Cheeseburger in Paradise
On St. John, Shipwreck Tavern or Skinny Legs
On St. Thomas, Tickles Dockside Pub

Good Afternoon. Are Shipwreck Tavern and Shipwreck Landing different and if so where is Shipwreck Tavern located?

They are different. Shipwreck Landing is in Coral Bay St. John. Shipwreck Tavern is at Al Cohen's Mall across from Havensight on St. Thomas.

THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG ON THE ISSUE OF TIPS. I FULLY BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE NEEDS TO EARN HIS OR HER MONEY. BETTER SERVICE MAY MEAN BETTER TIPS. SOME PEOPLE WON'T TIP MUCH REGARDLESS OF THE SERVICE. THAT IS SIMPLY PUT. SOME DON'T SEE IT THAT WAY. THAT IS OK ALSO.

BUT BACK TO THE ORGINAL BURGER ISSUE. I GO EVERY FRIDAY TO SHIPWRECK. IT STARTS MY WEEKEND OFF ON THE BEST NOTE.

Back, to the burgers, billd, are you actually able to eat the whole thing, sides and all. Man I can eat, but struggle with Shipwrecks. That is why I love them. Don't feel obliged to reply. I just wonder if it's me. Maybe I just need to consume a few less brews before getting there.

I had a great burger and iced tea at Blue Moon Cafe today after a great morning of scuba diving with Aqua Action.

I'm humbled while admitting that I've never tried the burgers at Duffy's. I've had the Mahi sandwich, and a number of other appetizers, but never tried the burger.
But while you're there, -PLEASE!!!-
Try the Sweet & Tangy Fiji Wings!!!
They are undoubtedly my soul crushers!
I'll make it a point to try a burger next time there. Got to, I love burgers.
As far as STJ is concerned, Skinny's has the "sandwich" down to a science. From a simple grilled cheese, to their burgers,-
It's a delicious belly full. And that ain't no joke.
I've been to STJ only @ 10 times, and this past year I tried a "Johnny Cake". Do yourself a favor, and try some of the local spots, that usually are so easily overlooked. Hidden treasures!
My local fave on STJ is Uncle Joe's BBQ- NOT TO BE MISSED!
"Notahippie" has my attention turned to Shela's Pot for a great local / homecooked meal, and after walking passed it over the years, I'm planning on making a point of giving it a whirl.
Have fun, and enjoy!
Smiles-
MJ

I had one burger on STJ at Skinny Legs. It seemed to be cooked on the outside but was raw in the middle. The key lime pie there was good. I liked the key lime pie at Morgan's Mango as well.

I'd like to throw in my 2-cents when it comes burgers, I had a burger at J'J's Texas Cafe on St. John, it was great. Nice little bar too, sat there drank and ate with Whitey(the barteneder who is now on St. Croix), had a really good time.
