I wouldn't worry too much. The wind has picked up and it's a little blustery but we don't expect to see anything much until early tomorrow - if then. These things can alter course quite drastically and as yet it's only a Cat 1.

aquagena - i think you are talking about Magens Point resort. I work here. for now it's just a little wind. I think it'll just blowing tomorrow and raining. there's nothing to worry.

Any word on if they have shut down the airport on St Thomas yet? We are due there tomorrow and have heard nothing from the airlines.

We are on the southern periphery of the storm and do not expect to have much weather.

I heard that they have already canceled flights for Monday morning at STT so I doubt my flight will be landing at 1530

Maybe you could try to get into Puerto Rico and then get another flight to here when it is opened.

Wind is picking up on STX. The storm hasn't turned north yet. It will (?) pass north of us, but we're in for some weather.

Does anyone know if the ferry's are going to be cancelled. I fly in at 5:22 pm into St. Thomas and need to get to St. John. I do not want to be stranded.

I am guessing that your flight has beem cancelled. Check your airline. I believe that all ferries are cancelled.

St. Thomas, northside, its been raining and gusty since around 5am. A little less right now but its expected to pick up again. Some have electricity, others do not.

As far as the ferry question... the coastguard had said the seaports were closed from 8am this morning. Likely won't by operating until maybe late tommorrow or Wednesday once things have cleared and road/sea/etc. conditions evaluated.

We are thinking of everyone on STJ (and STT). Hopefully Earl will not have any major effects. Stay safe and be well!
