Is it just me, or do you all feel like you actually know everyone on this message board?? I was talking to someone last night and I said something like, "I know someone who went to a Kenny Chesney concert and it rained the whole time." Mountaineer Girl!! Never met any of you guys, but I talk like I have!

Work has been reallllly slllllowwww the past few weeks so I'm constantly refreshing this message board- I'm not headed back to the islands til probably February, but I have the need to hear from my "friends" all of the time.... Am I crazy? I really need to get a life- or maybe a new job..... 🙂

I'm a newbee, but sure wish I'd have logged onto this site the 1st time we went to USVI. It's very helpful. This next trip will feel like we're with a whole group of friends.

Oops....better finish up the payroll export here at work or a few employees will be upset!

It rained almost the entire time at the concert we went to on Saturday, too! LOL

Waterguy, that's so nice. 🙂

I, too, suffer from VIMBO (Virgin Islands Mesage Board Obsession)! It really is interesting to start putting personalities to screen names after awhile. I love the trip reports - they take me back to the islands with every new post.

...and how many of you have your favorite USVI beach pic up as the background on your PC? What a sweet addiction!

I work for a private company, and recently moved into a new office. I painted the walls that could be seen from the hallway tan (aka Sand) and the wall that can only be seen when standing in my office bright blue (like the VI waters!). Of course, I then hung my personal favorite photos of the VI beaches on the blue wall under a sign that says "just another day in Paradise". It's my personal beach getaway! Now - people come into my office to get a glimpse of the beach whenever they are stressed! Too cool.

I have a palm tree as my wallpaper- a pic we took while visiting Jost in February! I also have a USVI calendar and of course a couple of framed photos on my desk.

If you go to the home page here, you will find screensaver package of Islander pictures. Then you can rotate them every once in awhile! 😉

It has also been fun to have the locals past and present of the islands play along too.
It is so fun to tease.
Also, makes the islands stay fresh in my mind.
Thanks, you have all been a blast!!

We've made personal friends with with people we've met on this board, one couple "tammy812" and hubby actually live a few miles from us and own timeshare at the Elysian as we do, a couple three time a year, we get together for dinner, drinks and talk about our STT vacations and just about anything else. We really enjoy this in January/February when it's -10f, you can kinda feel the warm breeze (oh, that was the furnace, never mind) We've been doing this now for......oh boy....uh, 5,6,7 years(?) now...tammy812, how long has it been?

Last year we met some great people that live on STT via VINOW "Get Together" we started at Paradise Point last October, "pink coconut", "marty on stt", "anna, "jim", we had a blast just sitting around, watching the sunset, having a few drinks, and getting to know each other. We still talk to pink coconut and Sean (Pirates Chest) every couple of months....Marty, Anna, Jim you still out there?

Looking forward to meeting more VINOW folks when we try to get our next "Get Together" started in October......details soon come.

Thank you Islander for this website.

hey New Englander! I did go to a KC concert, but it didn't rain. I think that was Gari! ha see, I know everyone on here by name. I was an awesome concert, and would've been even if it HAD rained.

I go to work and say things like "so and so on the message board said that blah blah blah" you get the picture, its like I'm talking about people I've actually met. I've been to the VI's only once, don't know when I'll get back again, but I'm still adicted to reading about it! I check this board every day.

I checked out an Aruba board because I'm going there in March, and it in NO WAY compares to this! there is only like 2 or 3 new posts each day, and its BORING!

I really want to get back down to the ilons in 2009 for sure! would like to spend a night on Jost also.

yes, thanks Islander, for this website!

Isn't it amazing that someone can start this site with this title and everyone can relate to it? This thread made my day as I was envisioning our next visit and all the people that enjoy the USVI so much. It made rush hour traffic look like a snorkeling trip off Little Lameshur.

Everyone I know thinks I got connections when we go to STJ and BVI, LMAO.. Little do they know there is no connections, just that I familiarized myself about the islands thru this board. Also, going 5 years in a row now I guess I have become pretty knowledgeable. Hopefully, there will be a get together during a week that I am down there, I always seem to miss them.

Great people here, Great sense of humor, Here is to the good life in the USVI'S!!
