Is anyone else burried in falling ice?

It stared before I awoke this AM, and is still falling now - little ice balls. The weirest part is the sound it makes - like glass hitting glass - like 1000x a minute - a crystal symphony.

People are sliding around - having a hard time getting up the smallest hills.....burning rubber. All of my offices have closed. Trying to find some Friday night Lenten Sushi! 🙂

Isn't this so unusual? Wow!

I'm thinking - Trunk Bay.

Hey Blu....me too.

Cats are driving me crazy wrestling around the living room. Stuck inside and don't even want to consider going out!!

Spring comes March 21st...let's hope this is the last storm we have.

Thinking Trunk, Cinnamon, Sapphire, Coki, Magens...ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

Bluwater, Get your candles ready! I work for the power company in Iowa, and we just came through one of the worst ice storms we have ever had. Nothing does more wide spread damage to electric lines than accumulation of ice on lines, especially if the ice is followed by high winds. In know from your other posts that you have a daughter. The bright side is that if your power goes out, some of our customers said the best thing about being without power was playing board games with their children by candle light. I hope it doesn't happen to you, but if it does, make the best of it.

Joe

I don't know Blu...but a good friend was flying from PHL to Cancun....I haven't heard from her.

I did see on the news that people were stuck on the runway in PHL since 10;30 this morning on a US Air flight. That's just rediculous.....could you imagine?

Gee that would suck. You think if you schedule your vacation mid-March you're fairly safe from ice storms. NOT!

I remember March 15, early '90's ('94 maybe?) there was a bad storm up and down the eastern US. We got over a foot of snow then. it was a Saturday, and by Monday the temp was back up in the '70's. Neighbors of ours had taken a cruise out of Miami, and when they got back in port - their flight home was delayed 48 hours! 2 days they spent in an airport!

My sister is stuck in New Jersey until Tuesday. It's 75 down here on the South Texas Coast and I gotta mow the grass this weekend! I feel sorry for all of y'all stuck up there in the North...I just have to deal with an ocassional hurricane. I think I'll go have a painkiller and watch the grass grow. Y'all stay warm!!

Connie, hope your friend made it out ok.

Just went out and tried to get into car - frozen solid. Doors won't budge.

Funny thing is, it ISN'T that cold! Must be just at freezing. Ice balls 5-6 inches high....getting into my shoes when I walk.

Good night to be inside.....thinking about Trunk Bay.

Crappy day in Northern Virginia as well! Cranked the heat, turned on the fireplace, and made up some rum punch, yum.

On a sad note, 4 girls from our local high school were in a weather related accident about 1/4 from my house this afternoon. One girl died, another seriously injured. Say some prayers.

It's nasty out there. Don't go out if you don't have to!

Might go out on the boat this afternoon, lookin' for Lobster! LG! Rusty, new to the forum- a friend of mine and a repeat guest and also has a time share at Bluebeard's is flying out today- Minnesota. Just got in from cleaning my driveway, 5 hours of hard labor here in Patterson NY. Mrs. Nyestreet is basking in 80' weather at her Mom's in Ft. Lauderdale. Happily thinking about our arrival at Estate Lindholm in 11 days. John

We received over a foot of snow last night, shoveled, and snow blowed the driveway and walks this a.m. Ran out to the liquor store to grab more Cruzin' and the only one they had was mango, no coconut or banana so no home made painkillers to ease the pain of snow today! It's started snowing again around 3pm and we know have an additional 4 or 5 inches with an expected 8-10 more before morning. I'm jealous of all in the islands or on their way. Keep the trip reports coming, looks like it's going to be a long time before spring here! Jill

Darlene, keep your snow and ice. One of the bad things of living here is we can't make snow angels, LOL.
