Hey Everyone,
Just got back on Saturday and already day dreaming when we can go back.

1st day Saturday 7/22 arrived almost an hour late on American, But was welcomed with a big hug from Sherri
our rental agent who takes care of and owns Rockworks and Stone Cottage.
Got our luggage pretty fast then went right over to the hertz counter only to be told that they did not have a jeep for us but that they would give us something better like a Ford Explorer.
Well we were disappointed but was assured that we would have a jeep by 12:00 Noon the next day and they would meet us at wherever we were.
Sherri gave us walkie talkies which was great and we followed her to our little piece of heaven we call Stone Cottage.
The walkie Talkies were great because she was able to tell us names of places we were passing so we would know how to get their, Now mind you did i mention we were in a big... SUV
I was very intimidated driving, was about to kill my husband by this time cuz the whole way up the mountain he kept saying "look at the view, oh hunny you miss the view" (Get mt point)
Their was no way in hell that i was turning my head for one second to "LOOK AT THE VIEW"
Needless to say we arrived safe but vowed not to leave the cottage for a week!

When we walked into our cottage we were amazed at how beautiful the decor and the views were,
anything and everything we needed was their for us and Sherri was great about telling us places to go and eat drink and be merry! We forced Her into having a drink or two which i need desperately after the drive up.
Before we left home we have the whole week planed, For instance, as soon as we get their were going grocery shopping yeah right, their is no way i was driving anywhere so i opted to drink, call everyone and just enjoy the views and the stars.
Day 2: Woke up around 9:00 and decided we were going to go get some breakfast in Redhook
Wee, guess who had to drive because you know who had to read the map to get us over their.
Well we finally found our way, i was in tears and swore we would not drive anywhere anymore.
We had to park way down the street but found our way into Molly Malone's, The breakfast was very good so it was worth the 45 minute wait we endured to get our food.
After, we walked the docks then got back in the bus as i call it and were off to find a grocery store.
it only took about 2 hrs and 200.00 later but at least we had food and booze cuz i swore i wasn't driving anymore.
P.S. Bought Kitty food for our little homeless kitty that lived on our deck
After we unpack the grocery's we got our stuff together and made it down the road to Hull Bay for some down time and snorkeling, did i mention i wasn't driving anymore?
Snorkeling was great but not horrible, saw some squid and pretty fish
We then head back up the main road and went to the North shore restaurant and had Conch Fritters and chowder
Very good.
In the mean time we kept calling hertz to ask about our jeep but wasn't getting anywhere except that they did not have one still
Well that did not last to long after my fit and we had our jeep by 7:30 P.M.
Now its time to go 4 Wheelin
Went down to our Robinson Crusoe beach fell out of the jeep (Dont Ask) and now i have scars on my knees as wonderful souvenirs.
Day 3: Sailing with Capt Pat on the Ike Witt
Woke up late, rushed around and flew down the road to Red Hook
I can drive way better now and love our jeep
We thought we were 15 minutes late but turns out we were and 1hr early
Anyway Got on the sailboat to discover we were the only ones going that day so it was great.
Capt pat is wonderful, has some great Pirate stories and took us to a great place for snorkeling over at Hawks nest on STJ
After our all day trip we stopped up at Sop Choppy for drinks and Apps
Ate dinner at the Cottage

Ill return with the rest of the week and our adventure with C Urchin and her hubby

Where in the world did you stay? I thought you were talking about St. John there for a while. Were you on the West end of St. Thomas? Got pictures?

I have to tell you this...we had about 4 cats coming to us for food while we were there (we stayed at Point Pleasant). Two came regularly. They were black female cats. One was really skiddish. The other was very friendly. I could tell she was either pregnant or just had babies and was nursing, so I wanted to make sure she got plenty of food. On our last day there, we heard a meowing from up on the patio above ours. We looked up, as she was clearly trying to get our attention. She was laying there with several itty bitty kittens nursing. 🙂 It was almost as if she was saying "thanks for feeding me, here's what you were helping! Meet my family!" 🙂

Just got back today (and it was a blast as I went with my wife and another couple to rockworks. The thing that caught me with the post was the black and white kitty is still there. She is a sweetheart and we nicknamed her "chicken" as she loves grilled chicken and French fries (You can get a real nice takeout presidente burger at hull bay, all lefts from the villa (right at the end of the villa road). It's nice to see that years later the same kitty is doing great 🙂

Best snorkeling spot by far is secret harbor. We actually got to swim with a couple of huge schools of fish and a wild green sea turtle.

There is a real nice little grocery store if you go back up to 33 and make a left. It also has rather cheap gas.

Yes, just noticed that 🙂

I was looking around to see whom else noticed the kitty at Rockworks and stumbled upon this post. Hey if Sherri wants to bring her to NY, I'd be glad to take her in. My other cats will take some time to get used to her but things would work out 😉 I'm not sure that would really be right as she was probably born on STT and really should live her entire life in paradise! That's up to Sherri.

Funny I didn't notice the post was two years old till STT Resident pointed it out to me:-) Fact is, Stone Cottage was just as amazing this May when we were there as when GoBucs was there two years ago. Alot of the magic of STT is timeless, and Stone Cottage is another example.... Jeff and Sherri deserve all the credit for that! (tu)
