Okay, I'll say in advance that I'm embarrased to post this but what the heck, i'm among friends!!!

I'm a Kenny Chesney fan and saw him in concert recently and while I was looking at some recent pictures that were posted on this sight the song about the "Old Blue Chair" of his came on my ITunes and so I'm wondering... have any of you ever seen him while vacationing there or know any interesting tid bits of his living there? Just random thinking on my part, but I do love how he describes the feeling of being on St. John in that song and mentions Cinnamon Bay and it added so much to looking at the pictures! I think at least one of his albums was written in great part while he was there. Anyone know anything that will fuel my interest?

Sleep....pm me if you'd like. Evidentally, there are about 10 people about to have a stroke because they think that I am partially responsible for this stupid KC thread.

Honestly I had never heard of KC until his quickie marriage/divorce to a Hollywood starlet, but I think this thread is fun. After all this is a vacation board and vacations are all about having fun -- so if y'all are having fun, I say continue on!!!!

(Also, this thread is probably setting some sort of a forum record -- so I vote for keeping it going.)

Sunny and warm regards to all from beautiful STT!

Best,
🙂 Mell

Okay, okay,
So, the only real 'bunnies', were the ones Promoguy matrix-dominated, at the Playboy Jazz Festival.
We have proof. And, he admitted going to all the KC concerts, whip in hand.
I noticed that STT RES first posted on page two, wanting us to quit this nonsense.....All of us 'naughty monkeys', didn't listen.
On page three of this thread, she was actually enjoying herself. Short fun span??
BeckyR needs to realize, the people who visit this thread are, well,.. 'naughty monkeys'.
If we needed a zoo keeper, which of course we probably do, why would STTRES and BeckyR apply for the job??
It would probably only pay bananas, anyway. Then they'd be complaining about that.
But, hey,..us 'naughty monkeys' really LOVE bananas.
That's why this post has a life of it's own. It's about bananas.
I also like mangoes, papayas, pineapples,...wow,..this little monkey's gettin' hungry.
Wish Weary had his Kenny Safari Tour Bus up and running,...I heard KC's havin' a pot-luck.

Hello everyone. Wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate all of the great information that is shared. I am also a Kenny fan and sleepless, I hope you have a great time at the concert. That would be aw some to be on the front row. Hope you get lots of great pictures. Being a fan is what made it possible for me to be exposed to how beautiful the islands are. I went on my first cruise last year and we docked in St. Thomas, so I only had one day to explorer so I went to St. John for the day. We plan to go back and stay on the island as soon as possible. I want to be able to explorer all around and see all of the beautiful beaches. It would be great to run in to Kenny, but I would not bother him. I am going to need lots of help in planning the best place to stay and everything, so I really appreciate this board. Having Kenny fans make it even more fun. Anyone that has not seen a show, go if you can. It is the most energetic concert you will ever attend. His new stage set with the new large screens this year are amazing.

Before reading this thread, I knew nothing about KC.

But after reading 326 posts, I now feel compelled to buy one of his CDs.

KC fans, which of his CDs would you recommend? Which one has the most "island songs" about the USVI on it?

Thanks!

Doug

DreamConch,

You are a hoot! I will bring some Foxy's Firewater rum -- doesn't KC sing about that in one (or more) of his songs?

Best,
🙂 Mell

The song on that Be As You Are album called Island Boy is about a guy that lives a 'stones throw from St Croix!
Heard that one playing on Crucian radio!

OK, to make this more "island friendly" Here are some facts. Kenny's tour is sponsored by Cruzan rum which is made in VI ( St Croix) Cruzan rum pays the most taxes in the VI. Kenny promotes Cruzan rum via 4 story high lit screens on either side of his stage, actually running a video before he comes out promoting Cruzan, selling Cruzan in venues that allow it, and mentions Cruzan in 2 songs. Now he tours for 5-6 months doing 12-15 shows a month with 20,000 - 50,000 fans at each show. Where else could Cruzan get that much advertising?? Cruzan was sold to a non American company last year who are now trying to sell it. Rumors are flying that people will buy it & move it out of the VI's. Real bad news since their taxes help keep the VI's running. Sooooo I believe Kenny is doing a wonderful job helping to support the VI's with Cruzan.
Soapbox done.

Cocomomma, you do realize that Cruzan is promoting Kennyboy and not the other way around. They pay the show promoters a lot of money.

I'll bet if Corona beer did the same thing he'd be warbling the praises of the serape he bought in Puerto Vallerta also.

If I can come to the party I'm bringing a pickled tongue ala connie ring sliced.

/since this thread is all about fun I'd thought I'd join in.

Hello,

Re: Comments/complaints about this thread

It has been suggested that first time board users may be confused by seeing a long discussion about KennyC and that this thread is pushing a lot of recent threads off the first page. These are really not an issue, but thank you for pointing out that they potentially might have been.

The default setting for all board users for viewing threads is flat mode; only the subject line of the original message is shown, no subject lines of replies. Whatever full page this or any other thread is on there are 29 other threads on the page with it; which are likely going to be car rental, accommodation, trip report related. And this applies to both flat view and threaded view.

The other comments were regarding the length of this thread and threaded view. The default list view is flat. When registered users switch the list view from default to threaded this change only affects them. If you have intentially made this switch then you have decided that what you find favorable about threaded view outweighs the cons. And one of the biggest cons is that you have to scroll a lot more to browse the subject lines of posts, particularly so when threads are long. If you didn't realize you had the view setting in threaded mode or if you knew and have decided you no longer want to use this mode you can change it back: Go to My Settings (at the top of the board when logged in), choose Forum Settings, for Thread Override List - switch to default and click submit). Again this changing from default to threaded only applies to registered users.

And if it’s just that you are not interested in reading about KennyC then you should skip threads with KennyC in the subject line.

Promo,
That dish kind'a sounds,...yucky. I'd probably turn vegetarian at the sight of it. Well, I guess being a 'naughty monkey' I could just stay being a, fruit-a-tarian.
Besides, it really makes me think you're into some kinky English, food thing. Like, 'out-for-blood-pudding' .
I'd ask Becky what she's bringing to this party but, she's too busy lol. Hope she can cook.

Maybe, you should just worry about 'what' you're going to wear at the pot-luck, instead of bringing a dish. Okay, Promo?

Islander, sure hope you can make it, too.

Hey Promoguy,

Had to laugh at your post. 🙂

Thank God Kenny writes songs about St. John. I mean who would come to the islands if it weren't for him? You have to be careful though. I thought I saw him one time and it turned out to be an impostor. We took pics with him anyway. Maybe it was his brother or something, because he looked just like him. Crazy huh?
