and when?

And just to get all the ducks in a row, what do you consider "reasonable"? 😀

What is reasonable to some is not to others.

Some questions?

When do you want to come? The of season is the best from a cost view.

What island? STX is the least expensive. The STT then the most expensive is STJ.

Do you want to be close to the water or up on a hill? Water places are more expensive.

How many bedrooms?

Or were you just fishing?

I will be visiting in last week of december. The place does not matter for close to pool or to the hill. That's fine with me. One bedroom will do for me... I am expecting something around $1000 - $1200 per month cottage.

Thanks

You will not find a one-month rental on any of the islands for $1000.

That's not true. I know of a few places on STT which fit the bill, The problem is that the OP still hasn't indicated which island he plans to be on.

An inexpensive rental for Christmas week is going to be tough to find.

A "reasonable" 1 bedroom unit on STT is (probably) going for around $300. to $400. per night.

FI: He's looking for a monthly rental, though, and these can be found in that price range. But until he tells us which island he's not going to get any info at all!!! 😀

Evidently the island does not matter

Depending on what dates you are looking at my property manager Juliet might be able to hook you up on STT. It is a small studio apartment that we rent out both weekly and monthly. Here is our link: http://www.vrbo.com/216007

I'm not sure about that......he (she) wants a rental for "up to" 25-30 days.......could it be less than 25????

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought he wanted a rental for ONLY the month of December, and wanted it for $1000. I don't think he will find a tourist rental at that time of year for that price on any of the islands.

He did say though that, "One bedroom will do for me... I am expecting something around $1000 - $1200 per month cottage" so I'm guessing he's looking to take a monthly rental even if he doesn't stay in it for the whole month.

Ric - it would probably be difficult to find a "tourist" rental in that price range over Christmas but I do know of several places which aren't typical vacation rentals but which do short-term monthly rentals in that price range.

Cheers - and I'm not contributing any more to this thread until the OP clears up all this confusion!!! 😀

There are four eco-cabins at Cane Bay, on St Croix, for rent. The weekly rental is $525.00 per cabin. They have a shared bath house. The beds are nice queen futons. It's not the Ritz, but the price is right. You can find them on VRBO. Cane Bay, St Croix, USVI.
