Notice to Visitors, It is still legal to smoke cigarettes in the USVI. The Airports have designated areas, the restaurants have designated areas, Taxi's don't allow it etc.But you can smoke on the beach. I was at the beach yesterday, there was a young man smoking within ear shot away from me. A women approached him and demanded he put his cigarette out and lectured him on second hand smoke, she said if he was in New Jersey he would get a summons and pay a fine on the first offense and jail time on the second. He politely put his cigarette out, got his things together and left. This women was upwind of him so the smoke was not going in her direction. I don't smoke anymore, however I don't feel I should play cop and tell people how they should live their life. Not to be rude, but I hope the women goes back to New Jersey soon.

Okay I agree that a few of the people who buy cigarettte papers do not smoke pot, but they are smoking something and those same upper class people were not buying tobacco or packs of cigarettes. I never heard of people buying papers for any other reasons have you? LOL. Point to this was (as I am sure you already figured out) is that all the hoopla was about cigarette smoking.

I have spent hours on this web-site today reading all the ya yaing between posters and have had a ball. This is lots of fun and passed a lot of time smiling.

Like I said, there are many brands. Some stores carry only a limited
stock of certain papers. To assume one brand is only used by criminal pot
smokers is just plain silly.
Never heard of Philly Blunts. Is that a brand of rolling paper or a name for roach?? (Looking left-looking right) HA!!
I also have other friends (not ranchers), who use rolling papers for loose tobacco. Just knew more
ranchers that did, is all. Git along litlle doggies, puff-puff, and yee-haw.

beckymac52,
They make great sail's for model ship builders, and that's what those little umbrella's in your drinks come from as well.

I have heard of muslims using papers to roll their own herbs (not marijuana). The manufacturers of the rolling papers direct some of their marketing to the muslims.

"Roll Ups' are particularly popular with Europeans. It is part of their culture.

There is an awesome artist in Colorado who is a mule-skinner, and paints the
most detailed amazing artwork on cigarette papers. She is not a pot smoker, and
neither are most (none) of the ranchers I personally knew.

Tobacco is also used in Native American ceremonies and is considered very sacred.
The offering of scattered tobacco on the ground is a sacramental offering of thanksgiving
to the Earth.

U.S. tobacco companies want to hook their customers by adding all sorts of stuff
in the tobacco. That in itself is pretty awful.

DreamConch,
Zig Zag paper is only used when you only have a nickel bag, when you smoke your joint as it gets smaller it is called a roach. A Philly Blunt is a cheap cigar, then the cigar tobacco is removed from the center and filled with grass. this is only done when you have a dime or higher.

I am learning lots of stuff today. I do know about Philly Blunts, but not until I worked at that store. There are a lot of other brands I know there are even flavored ones. I didn't know ranchers roll their own, this store was in Louisiana not too many ranchers there. Here in Texas is a whole different thing.

I didn't know about the sails or umbrella's either, you folks are teaching this ex-dope smoker a lot, When I say smoke em if you got em I am talking about my cigarettes. LOL

...and here I thought zig zags were the same folks Roto and MADD were talking about..or people driving while reading and or talking on cell phones. Now you tell me the Brokeback Mountain boys were maybe smoking zigzags. I thought they smoked Swisher Sweets.

Maybe if the smokers among us try to find alternate ways of consuming their tobacco like the American Indians did so long ago.

from http://www.historian.org/bysubject/tobacco1.htm

"• c. 1 BCE: Experts believe American inhabitants begin finding ways to use tobacco, including smoking (via a number of variations) and in enemas. "

STT Resident could install enema booths in his restaurant. No problem with "butts" then so to speak, just use the appropriate amount of lubricant.

I think this is rather a disgusting way to take this conversation or discussion or debate or diatribe or whatever it is you want to call it. You've kind of crossed an etiquette line, rotorooter....no one wants to talk about enemas on a vacation board. Not even remotely amusing.

Oh, and P.S. You might need to get to know the board participants a little better. STT Res will be quite surprised by your creative ideas for HER restaurant.

Rotorhead - That is the most disgusting comment I've read on a message board.

You should just give up with your constant postings. We all get it, you do not like cigarette smoke and never will. I think the smokers who have responded to your postings have been quite coolheaded and to all of them I give kudos.

There are arguments to be made on boths sides and NO ONE is absolutely right or wrong.

I would love to tell you to just go away, but I won't put myself on the same level as you.

Becky R and don,

Spoken like true smokers. After decades of walking into restaurants and bars and finding ashtrays full of butts, and walking along the sidewalks and finding butts. And don't forget the butts on the beaches.

It's clear that smokers should be the arbiters of what's disgusting and what's not.

Roto,
You need to stop posting. I doubt that anybody will listen to you now and be
convinced of anything.

DC,
I was just making a reference to native american rituals as you did in an earlier post.

I now know what a lightning rod feels like. Did you notice that it is the same smoke filled gray clouds who continue to strike?

Rotorbreath, you are a complete dimwit. You may think that you are just toying with the little dull witted folk on this board for your own private kicks...but you are too silly to play with the big girls (and boys). Now, go away before Mummy takes your nasty little green buzzy toy away and punishes you in her particular favorite and private way - I am guessing wildly here about the source of your enema fixation.

WOW.
In reading this thread it is very easy to determine some of the personalities on here. For the most part I think I would rather hang out with the smokers and take my chances with second hand smoke than to have to live within the regulations that SOME of the non-smokers that have posted here would have me follow.

I will be on StJ in december. My plans are to stick my toes in the sand and chill. If someone happens to be smoking nearby I plan to stand up, walk over to them and .......... strike up a short conversation, wish them a pleasant rest of the day and return to my spot in paradise.

Peace
