Our favorite in C'sted is the Bombay Club. Consistently good meals, at a fair price. And I like the 'cave-like' atmosphere;-)

I cook a lot, but we do also explore the island's culinary offerings.

I agree with travelwoman... I like Bombay Club, too. It was late when I was posting that list and I was gleaning the surface knowing I was missing lots of places with great food. I also should have listed Pleasant's.

Bombay is also my everyday favorite - prices range $8-23ish. Friends who are serious foodies, with both the palate and wallet to afford it say the best food on island is at Bacchus. Also:

Savant - C'sted, a bit pricey
South Shore Cafe - haven't been there (yet) but hear very good things.

Luncheria - C'sted, very decent Tex-Mex and very inexpensive.

Pleasant's - C'sted, home cooking and inexpensive

Kim's and/or Harvey's - C'sted, excellent West Indian food and inexpensive.

Blue Moon - F'sted, I had one of the best burgers in my life there, and a fantastic brunch.

Also, you should know that Tutto Bene will serve half orders of all their pasta dishes at half price. The service is great there, as is the food. My sister ordered a half order of the spaghetti with Bolognese sauce (best I've ever tasted anywhere) and still took home about half.

Question to STX Realtor. I am coming to STX in June for the 10th time. I would like to look at some villas while we are there. We always stay at The Buccaneer, but we might consider a stay at a villa on our next trip. Can you give a way to contact you for some help please?

Stcroixtraveler... you can reach me via email at [email protected]

I also advertise on this website, so if you lose the email or my website address, you can click on the main page of this website and then click on St. Croix and then on Real Estate and you will see my ad and contact info. That can be easier than reading through pages of messages to try to find it!

If I can help you out with finding a rental property for your visit, I'll do what I can. I can certainly show you some properties for sale while you are here. It sounds like you have been here often enough to know the island fairly well and know that either vacationing or living here full time would work for you.

Fill me in a bit in an email on the type of property you would be interested in seeing and we can work towards scheduling property tours while you are here.

i am travelling to St Croin Feb16-23 and we will be celebrating our daughter's 14th birthday while there. She will have 12 girls betwenn 14-18 with her. I was thinking of havinga surprise birhday dnner for her at either Cheeseburgers or Off The Wall. What would you reccommend?

12 girls? Wow! Sounds like this will be quite a trip!

Cheeseburgers is a popular place. The food is OK. If you go there, try to make it on a night when there is a band to give the girls something to do. The dining area is a group of picnic tables under tent awnings. You do not have an ocean view or a breeze and sometimes the mosquitos are annoying.

Off the Wall has the ocean view and the breeze. The girls would take turns claiming the hammock. Some nights they have live music, too.

Other suggestions:

Full Moon Bar at Cane Bay. A quarter mile from Off the Wall, but they have a sandy beach right there where the girls can run around and hang out if they get tired of gossiping on the deck. Similar food choices to Off the Wall. A smaller menu, but everything is pretty good and the food comes out quicker.

On the C'sted boardwalk, try the upper deck at Styxx. They have pizza as well as other typical menu items, so most teens are happy to eat there. The view is great and they can be rowdy if they want. They will probably want to run around the boardwalk in groups and check out any of the little shops that are open.

Expand their culinary horizons and take them to Dashi for Sushi. You'd need every seat/table in the place, so let them know you'd be coming!

Check to see if Mt. Victory Camp is doing a pig roast. The food is good and it would be a unique part of the trip.

You could bump it up a notch to Tutto Bene to make your daughter feel grown up. The food is excellent and Smokey & Kelly are happy to accommodate special occasions and large groups with a little advance notice.

Order the fabulous and unusual escargot at Sunset Grill while dining with your feet in the sand on a west end beach. Or you can eat up in the main restaurant area. More great food here!

Go native and take them to lunch at the La Reine Chicken Shack. They'll enjoy the roasted chicken and red beans with rice and johnny cakes.

There are a lot of other good and/or interesting restaurants on STX. Choosing the right one for your purposes depends on what your daughter likes and what will keep most of the girls happy and entertained. Cheeseburgers is probably safe.

Make sure you take them to the Hermit Crab Races while you are here. It really is a fun time. Really. 😉

Last time we were on STX we had the BEST meal at the South Shore Cafe (340-773-9311). Fresh handmade bread, handmade pastas, homemade desserts. EXCELLENT food and be sure to save room for desserts (flan, cakes, ice creams). Handmade ravioli stuffed with sweet potatos and onions, or lamb chops, or fish, or prime rib or chicken picata (the best I've EVER had). LOTS of vegetarian selections. Good stuff. Can not wait to go back. We ate there 3 times in one week. P.S. They are only open for dinner Wed thru Sun. Bring a BIG appetite.

The Best Place in St. Croix to eat is in Christiansted - Zebo's fine dining outside eating, pool table flat screen tvs and nice inside... check it out..

if you wanna see live music - Parrot's Cove in downtown Christiansted is the best they have a good priced american food menu as well...

check these two places out for sure

Not sure why we're on this string that started in 2006, but Angry Nates along the dock in Christiansted is fantastic. It's pretty new and a great place for such a strange name. I ate there almost every night for the few weeks I was working over there and loved every meal I had. Also, stop by Caribben Sea Adventures and ask for Miles and his beautiful wife Emily. They will get you out to Buck Island and you'll never forget the adventure!

Parrot's Cove is a must. A really cool rooftop setting with a beautiful view. Seem to have more live music than anyone else in St croix. Go have a good time it's guaranteed

I thought Zebo's was a little pricey for what you get, and the staff was more interested in locals than us "tourists" when we were there. Made us all feel a little uncomfortable.

There are alot of other places, so I'd put this one on the bottom of the list
