Altho it hurts to post it, since I think the whole discussion is way over done (but each to their own), thought that those of you who might be interested, I happened to catch an ad for 60-minutes ... guess they are showing the KC thing again tomorrow nite. My good deed of the day!

CShell and Ron,

Thanks for the heads up on the program.
I wouldn't have known it was on. Very glad I got a chance to watch it.
Can really say, I'm a Kenny fan for real, now..

He's down to earth because his fans want him to be down to earth and it helps to sell music and sell out his concerts. He has publicity folks all over the place. Remember his job is entertaining. And his managers and PR folks will do the right thing in lining the bank accounts of themselves and KC. You certainly don't expect him to interview without his handlers do you????

It's the way Hollywood works.

Promo,
You live in LA-LA LAND, and he's from Tennessee.
Don't think he works for Hollywood,...you might though.
He makes money because people like him, pure and simple.
Without fans who enjoy your performance, and buy your albums because of it,
I don't care how many handlers you've got, it won't add up to success, and big bucks.
You could promote turnips, if that was the case.

What'd I do? Boy, ya'll are a fickle group....don't like me if I don't play, don't like me if I do play....if I didn't know I was paranoid to begin with, ya'll could sure make a girl that way.

It all works the same. Hollywood is just generic.

Anyone heard of Britney Spears? Not much smarter than a turnip and she is a millionaire. Of course Kenny is fully educated in 'how to make myself appealing 101'. There are a lot of good musicians that don't make millions of dollars that are very talented, but don't have 'the look'. You just have to hire the right people who are invested in making you look good so you sell records and they make money off of you. That is called Hollywood and trust Nashville knows a lot about Hollywood! What I don't understand is how people say they like someone they have never met. Sure I can like someone's music and if they dress cool, I might take a few style tips from them, but I won't go and say I really like them. Who knows what they are like out of sight of cameras. They are not idols to be worshiped, but that is exactly what happens. But idolize who you want, keeps them rich!

Teresa,
I also do not understand why people want to meet famous people. I met Kenny at a meet & greet. Not my idea, hubby was in charge of those in several states for the past few years. I was kinda upset I missed Dierks to go to M & G. Kenny was nice but what is the big deal? People beg for a meet and greet pass. Don't get it.

I know I'll never meet the guy, or, probably ever go to one of his concerts. No big deal.
I can still be a fan who 'likes' his music.
I personally don't care what he does in his private life, either.

I am a little confused at this topic, and why it comes up.
Of course performers have promoters,...duh. That's a job that benefits him,
his band, his record label, his crew, ya-da, ya-da, ya-da. So what??
The promoters aren't the folks that are up there singing. Who cares if he has promoters?? I don't go to concerts to see those people, and I don't buy albums with the promoters singing on them, either.

It leaves him to do what he does best, perform. No one here is in the dark about that. , so what's the big deal?...You hate promoters for helping people be more successful or, something? And, make money doing so??

Do I care if it's them that makes him rich?? No.
Am I a fan of other artists, of course.
Do I care if they've gotten rich at what they do? No.
Do I care if I ever get rich? Yeah-baby. Who knows I just might hire a promoter to market my
talents to the masses so it frees me up to do the job I love doing most.

I think it's a blessing that his career supports a lot of other folks.
Or, is your beef, his image and what he looks like?? That kind of thing is weird, but hey, why do we get dressed up
to go out to dinner?? Must matter.

And, if there are any turnips out there that I've offended,....I'm truly sorry....but, I still won't
be buying your album. It must be your image (not). Although, if you could sing I'd probably listen at least once, and
figure it out from there

Ya know,
I'm really into the photographic images of the USVI, and though I feel hooked on those images, and
always seek out more, I'm a lot happier knowing there are folks out there just like me to share with.
I know it isn't all great with some of the problems, and those travel brochures certainly don't show those but, those images help keep the fantasy alive.
We all need a little escapism.

Nice to know you guys are out there to have fun with.
Love the stories, and the silliness best.

Where was the burger place that Kenny was shown sitting in chairs in the rear? I did not recognize this.

So silly of him to give away some of his secrets like his 'office' hang out in Cruz Bay and the way they transport him to the stage. Guess he will have to make some changes!

RL,
Had several of his CDs but upon your recommendation, picked up "As you are". After a bit of a tiff with some co-workers in the office today, I went for a quick drive around the block to re-coup my usual good mood, and that CD was the perfect medicine for returning my sense of ease and humor! Thanks for the rec!

I play it on the ride from the airport when I pick up my guests. Just about when the Be As You Are starts, is when people start talking about the wrong side of the road and I say, listen to Kenny. It's what you will be dong for the next few days!
