I will be visiting St. thomas for the 1st time in about a month. What are the restaurants do I need to make it a point to visit. I would like to have 1 or 2 upscale and the rest to be nice but not real expensive. thanks for any info

When my husband and I stayed in STT in late April, we went to Oceania in Frenchtown. Great wine selection and food, romantic setting, great service, wonderful view of the bay.

Most everything else we did was more casual/fun like the Green House in Charlotte Amalie, which is a staple. We love Sopchoppy's Pizza in Red Hood Harbor, but that is very casual.

I'm sure you'll get many other recommendations, but I would put my vote for Oceania.

If you like local food, you have to visit Cuzzins in downtown Charlotte Amalie. The food is fantastic, and prices are very reasonable.

Another great place, not sure if they're open for dinner, is Glady's Cafe in Charlotte Amalie. Teriffic food, and a real fun place.

How about Biker John's "Charlotte Tamales" for a yummy, cheap meal? Try the "Bro-ritto"! It's HUGE!!!

We loved Randy's Bar & Bistro when we were there in November. We went there twice because it was so good. They would be more toward the upscale end, but well worth it. They also have a huge wine selection (you can browse and pick your own bottle) if you so desire.

JJ'S Texas coast Cafe on STJ (across from cruz bay dock). Biggest and best fritters (Ohh with an ice cold beer at the end of a hot day Ahhhhh) I've had on the islands. Woody's around the corner are ok too! So many good places and so little time, LOL!

I would definitely try the Banana Tree Grill at Bluebeard's Castle. The sunset is great and the food is absolutely wonderful! Tell Liz and Jerry HI.

for the best pizza on the island try the northdrop near hull bay! it's high quality and inexpensive. nice setting, with a very nice bar and plasma TV....
avoid the slot machines in the bar...

Sorry Marty I'll let you say INDiGO next time 🙂

We haven't heard much talk about NIPA (?) any review on this? Drove past there last year, they were in the process of doing some remodeling, seen thier web site, we always enjoyed going there when it was Latitude 18, it really had that "Isalnd" feel.

Charlotte Tamales is behind "Modern Music" and "Tropic Scooter", across the Street from Havensight. Coming OUT of the main Havensight Entrance, it is to the left. There is another, one way, entrance to Havensight, and it is directly across from that. If you get to the KFC, you have gone too far. Enjoy!
