St. Thomas/St. John – Anegada Ferry Service

Ferry service between St. Thomas and Anegada is available on limited basis. The route is Red Hook, St. Thomas; Cruz Bay, St. John and The Settlement, Anegada. Ferry service between the two islands is typically available for special events also, like the Anegada Lobster Festival in November.

Update: The St. Thomas to Anegada ferry will resume for the first time since Covid, on March 27th, 2023 and again on April 24th, 2023. Dates for future months are not yet available. The ferry ride takes approximately two (2) hours each way, customs will be cleared on Jost Van Dyke. The rate is $200 per person plus a $30 customs fee. The ferry is operated by Inter Island Boat Services, (340) 776-6597. Check in time is 45 minutes prior to departure time. Valid passports are required to take this trip.

Travel between the US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands is international, you are required to clear customs/immigration on both sides of the trip, and there are port fees and departure taxes.

Port Fees and Taxes: Port fees and departure taxes are generally not included in the cost of your ferry tickets. They include USVI Port Fee $10, BVI Environment Fee $10 and BVI Departure Tax $20 ($15 BVI resident). These fees are subject to change by their respective governmental authorities, they are not regulated by the ferry operators. When purchasing ferry tickets take note which port fees and government taxes, if any, are included in your ticket purchase.

Travel Update (COVID): COVID related testing for entering the British Virgin Islands (BVI), and the US Virgin Islands (USVI) is no longer required.
