WE ARE GETTING DOWN TO THE WIRE. I'VE LIVED ON THIS SITE FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH. I JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR ADVICE, COMMENTS, ETC.

NOW I'M FOCUSED ON HURRICANES, WEDDING DETAILS AND PACKING!

ARE THERE ANY ITEMS THAT ARE A MUST FOR AN ISLAND VISIT?

MAP OF AREA
SNORKEL EQUIPMENT
BUG SPRAY
SUN SCREEN
I.D
GOOD WALKING SHOES
WATER PROOF CONTAINER FOR I.D & MONEY

AM I MISSING ANYTHING?

HUGS
JEN

Don't forget to bring a camera and a waterproof bag for that as well. We used a disposable underwater camera which worked well for daytime pictures but was not that great for the underwater ones. It might have also been the fact that I was swimming and taking pictures at the same time.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

Maybe a hat unless you plan to make double-duty of your bridal veil?? LOL. The sun is brutal so if you're fair skinned, you might want to pack a hat of some kind. Otherwise, you need alot of money and maybe double the sunscreen you thought you will need. You're gonna love the island- about 12 weeks for us till return-time!

We have always found a Neat Sheet to be handy at the beach. You may be able to find one there (check Starfish or Chelsea drugstore), but they are lightweight and pack easily, so I always take one. For more info (or if you've never heard of a Neat Sheet, check out: http://www.theneatsheet.com/

Might also advise-be sure that your flight times/day can be changed-just in case. My husband & I were married on Sept 9, 1989 and, went to STT for our honeymoon. We tell people we went on the extended honeymoon plan. We got caught in Hurricane Hugo. We were told we could NOT change our flight without paying near full price to do so. We went through the hurricane and, a very interesting second week on STT. Don't worry about it much-it gave us a whole different appreciation for the island and its people and, a lot of stories to tell over the years since. We now go back every year. The biggest things to take along is your sense of fun, kindness and, common sense. Have a wonderful trip. Congrats on your wedding!!

I carried a "travel size" container of bug spray as well as my larger spray bottle... I kept it in my purse or husband's pocket when we went into town for dinner and we pulled that little thing out several times to spray again! Saved us several times. I also carried a small travel size of pop up wipes that came in very handy at the beach and fit easily in our beach bag. Oh and if you aren't renting a car... you'll need lots of cash for the taxis, we really went through it and had to go to the ATM on the corner between Woody's and The Lime Inn for more. I'm so jealous.... have fun and come back and tell us all about it!!!

Bring ziplocks! big enough to store things like shampoo, lotion, etc. so that if they leak, your clothes won't be messed up. Also one big enough to put your bathing suits in, so that you can get in the water one last time before your flight out. That was the best advice I got! Have fun!

If you burn easily, be sure and pack or buy a t-shirt to wear over your swimsuit if you plan to snorkel. Also, I recommend bringing along some Aloe Vera Gel in case of sunburn. You simply cannot have too many ziploc bags! I bought the 2.5 gal, the 1 gal, and the quart-sized and used them all. Here is a list of medicine cabinet stuff you might need:

Advil or Tylenol
Pepto-Bismol Tablets
Prescription for antibiotics and steroid cream(for bites). Okay, so I am paranoid!
eye drops
Any prescription medication in it's original container.
Topical antibiotic cream (This came in handy when George sliced his foot open on a rock.)
Various types of band-aids

Call me paranoid, but I have had trips ruined by illness. God bless you and have a great time!

I hadn't thought of the eye drops or antibiotic cream. GREAT ADVICE!!!

Now we are keeping an eye on the tropics - I've never watched the weather channel so much!!
