My g'friend and I are heading to the Westin on STJ from 9/1 until 9/5 and I've been having a hard time finding good reviews in terms of restaurants. It seems like Asolare and ZoZo's are the 2 high class restaurants, but I can't tell for sure and I don't want to waste a dinner out on a lower level restaurant.

Next, in terms of activities during the day, I know that we wanted to go snorkling and wasn't sure if there was one area that was much better than any other one. Between snorkling one day, and going into town another day we would have another free day to do whatever so any other recommendations would also be helpful.

Finally, in terms of reservations for snorkling, restaurants, or anything else, how soon do we need to make them? Thank you in advance for any help that you can give.

One of the best restaurants on the island is right where you're staying! Chloe & Bernard's is absolutely gorgeous, romantic, and the food is awesome - also well-plated and innovative. Do it!

Hello,

Snorkeling is good at Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, Honeymoon, Waterlemon, Lameshur... lots of good choices.

Pick some hiking for part of a day. Several good trails ranging from short to long. You can stop by the National Park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay and learn about the different options.

Because its off season call the restaurants you want to go to at least the morning of the day you want to go or the day before to 1. make sure they are open and 2. to make reservations.

Enjoy.

Steelers,
Please let us know how you stay goes. I'm staying at the Westin in Jan. and would love to have an up to date report. I've heard mostly good things about the resort except that some rooms are quite a hike and the beach isn't the greatest since its man made. Also I read the rooms are a completely different color as opposed to the picture on the website. I've read they have painted them a stiking blue that most people don't seem to care for. Looking forward to your report on the Westin. Have a great trip.

Just back from STJ on 7-30 and would highly recommend The Lime Inn in Cruz Bay. Zozo's was very nice ambiance-wise and the food was very good, but we all agreed that The Lime Inn had the superior meal and the better price too. It doesn't look like much, but you absolutely cannot judge anything in STJ by it's cover. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

I'd also like to add that it is extremely hot and humid in STJ right now. Take lots of water on your hikes and to the beach or you'll be dehydrated quickly. We liked the snorkeling in Hawksnest and Trunk Bay the best. Waterlemon Cay has great snorkeling as well, but it's further away.

Have a great time!

My husband and I just returned from nine nights at the Westin. We had a pool view room. The walsl were painted a weird color blue. But given that we hardly spent any time in the room, it did not effect our stay in any way. We absolutelt LOVED the bed. Heavenly is a great word to describe it. The resort in spread out, bu t we were in poolside building #11 which I found to be centrally located. Any other questions I'd be happy to answer tham for you.

we just returned from St. John yesterday and it was paradise. We rented Meritage Greta house and could not have been happier. Our favorite restaurant was Rum Line- the food is out of this world- try their PUPu platter with their suggestions- the sauces are excellant. We also took a boat trip- through Ocean Runner- with our own captian Dustin- it ran around $600 for 9 of us. We went to the best snorkeling location we have ever been to( and we have been to many) then went to lunch at Willy T"s an old boat at Norman's Island- I just can't describe the experience- but it was one we will never forget- our best trip ever. Duffy's Love Shack is also a really fun place to go at night- the music is great and everyone is really into dancing- have fun

Snorkeling everywhere on STJ is wonderful. However, I think the hike out to Watermelon Cay is worth the trip for THE BEST snorkeling. Before you go out to the island, you'll see tons and tons of starfish lying on the sandy bottom, clear visability, lots of fishes and a nice deserted beach.
