Hi all, so glad I found this forum! Of course I have a multitude of ???, but I'll start off with this: we're coming 7/8 thru 7/15, spending the entire week on STJ. "We" consists of me, hubby & "almost" 10 yr. old son. We are all so psyched for this trip! We rented a condo at Battery Hill thru Suite St. John. Anyone ever stay at Battery Hill?

We also rented a jeep for the week (decided we needed that after reading "St. John Off The Beaten Track" & talking with friends who have been a few times). I'm a little paranoid about driving on the left, so I'll leave that up to my husband 🙂

Anyway, like I said, I have a bunch more ??? - will post under different topics, but any info on Battery Hill would be greatly appreciated.

I've never stayed at Battery Hill, but in November we stayed right around the corner at Star Villa. If you're looking for a nice walk close to home take a left out of Battery Hill's driveway and your first right down that road (can't think of the name of it). It'll bring you down to Frank Bay. The shore is covered in rocks and seaglass. I picked up some pretty rocks there to bring home. There's no beach there, but it's a neat place to walk to when you have some down time.

Thanks! My son is an avid rock collector - he'll love that. You should've seen what we had to talk him out of bringing home from South Dakota last year 🙂

Double up some ziplocks for him to collect the rocks in. Enjoy every second of your trip!
