Until we reach paradise....! Can't hardly stand it.

There are 4 of us going - my husband is the only one that's been there before - we're bringing along 2 18yr old boys (my son's graduation gift).

Thus far we have this settled for the trip (we're there Saturday 2/17 - Sunday 2/25):

Flights ($840 for 4 out of Ft. Lauderdale - straight shots - bought insurance too)
$10 per extra piece of checked luggage (cooler & snorkling/towels/dry food bag)
Rented a Jeep Liberty from Discount Car rental ($400)
Staying at Bluebeards Beach Club in 2 separate studio condos
Bought a soft-sided cooler to bring plenty of lunch meat, cheese etc for the boys during the day (bottom-less pits)
Got all our snorkling gear ready
Got all our maps/hot spots ready
Booking on a BVI trip on the Hurrican Hunter (through Daydreamer)
Thinking about booking a scuba/snorkeling trip through nightsnorkel.com (hubs/son certified)
Definitely going to St. Johns 1 if not 2 days and beach hopping

And other than that we plan to explore the different recommended resturaunts etc at night.

Anything we might have missed??? Any changes you'd suggest??

Thanks for your input 🙂

Don't get frustrated if your trip doesn't go as planned...you may decide to do something other than you have listed...and that's ok! 🙂 Spend some time just playing it by ear and just chilling out, enjoying the scenery, watching the iguanas, etc. I know you'll have a wonderful time. What an awesome grad gift for your son!!!

We leave tomorrow! Staying at the Watergate condos for 10 days , be sure and go to Iggies at Bolongo, but watch out for Donkey Hill! You are so brave to take teenagers, been there and done that, altho boys are easier. You will love it there, another favorite is Magens beach, the BEST bushwackers and pizza on island. I,m going to take my Ambien now and hope I don't get up and try driving down! I will think of you when we get up at 3am. BTW my husband is whitehaired, mustache and glasses, I spend a lot of money on hair color and wrinkle cream so if you run into us, we are David and Donna say hii ,( bet you'll be doing that a lot) we also want a day trip to the BVI so maybe you'll see us there. I f not have a great time and make some memories!

Donna

Jeepinmomma,

You won't need to bring towels if you are staying at Bluebeard's Beach Club. They will give you one beach towel per person at check-in. You just exchange at the front desk as needed. Towels take up a lot of luggage space.

If you want to save some money, go to the Sunday (at least it was Sunday last year) meeting at the Beach Club. New Horizons (50% off daysail to St. John or 20% off BVI day trip) and Homer's Night snorkel are there, among others, to tell about their activities. They will also raffle off some of these activities. You can also sign up for them right there. To get the discounts, however, you have to meet with the sales staff. Just tell them you would only buy resale and have no interest in buying from them and you can be out of there pretty quickly. Tell them you want your VIP card which gets you the discounts. You'll also get a free bottle of rum.

Have a wonderful time. The boys will love it.

Gerie

Homer's night snorkel is very cool...we did it last year. Its a little scary but fun. Our best sunset picture is from Hull Bay too.
