Hi
I'm looking for a place for my husband and I for DEc 25,2008 to jan 08,2009 to stay that wouldn't be that expensive, possibly be willing to pay up to 125-150 a night depending on the unit, would like a nice view with kitchen and 1 bedroom and bath, with parking to include all taxes in this price range thanks

Have to agree with Bert. That is the most expensive time period of the year and you will be hard pressed to find anything for that price.

I have a two bedroom that rents for $125/night for two people at that time of year. Look at www.stthomasvirginisland.com. It is a very nice unit with pool, kitchen and views.

Isn't that kind of like asking for an 'inexpensive Rolls Royce' to drive??

Island Realtor...why so cheap? And why hasn't it been booked already? I mean, I was in the hotel biz for almost 8 years here and the places were booked up to 4 YEARS in advance! Not all, mind you, but people really plan ahead for that time of year...being the first part of the US to have a New Year/weather/beaches/etc.

Check out http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/caribbean they have the best deals on rentals IMO.

Even on VRBO you'll be hard pressed to find that price at that time of the year anywhere near a beach. If you're bargain shopping you should go September or October.

You can check with Rita at www.condodelmar.com although she could already be booked since one of your weeks is over the holidays and she's probably a little over your budget but as others here have said, you're going to be hard pressed to find something within that price range. We stayed in one of Rita's units at Sapphire Village two summers ago before going to St John and we were very happy, it wasn't anything fancy but for the price it couldn't be beat and the unit was very neat and clean (and we had a great view from the balcony). Rita was terrific to deal with and we'll absolutely use her in the future if we ever need accomodations on St Thomas.

I was about an inch of renting New Moon Villa through VRBO this April, until another couple decided to join us. Looks adorable, and close to key beaches, if you ask me. It's @ $200.00 per night .-Good luck!

$200 in April is different than $200 over Christmas and New Years.

So true. Anything you can find for $150 a night over Christmas and New Years is no place you'd want to be. At least not anywhere you can see the beach let alone walk to it. Last year I had people fighting over my condo for that week. I got twice that much and they were happy to have it.

You might try looking in Vieques or Culebra in the Spanish VI for a guest house - great weather and walkable to the beaches and semi-undiscovered.

Hi Thanks for all your reply's, I did get us booked for those 2 weeks, one week at www.stthomasvirginisland.com nice pool, pretty view,
not real fancy inside, but looks clean and has good feed back. The other week I spent alot more but is a beautiful condo with awsome view. www.vrbo.com 98067 Point Pleasant. There are some nice places out there to stay without braking the Bank, you just have to look, we are not fancy people, but enjoy beautiful scenery and mountains. After this terrible winter we have had, it something to look
forward to. Thanks to all..............................B.
