Hi - I am new to the forum and very excited! I have visited St John 3 times over the past ten years and I am returning on Saturday, July 4th - evidently right at the winding down of Carnival. I am having trouble finding a rental car - offices are evidently closed (any suggestions?) Also - we are arriving on St Thomas at 1:30 pm so will we miss the parade? Staying at a villa - Mar de Amores - might we see the fireworks from there? Any advice/suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

Since you are having trouble getting a car in STJ, you could rent in STT and take the barge over for your stay! I know Amalie rents Jeeps specifically fot those going and staying there. Not a problem. Budget has no problems either, but Avis has a $1000 fee for having to go over and fix anything and Hertz does not allow cars in STJ at all. Hope I've helped some.
