So I'm bringing my girlfriend for a quick vacation to the island on Friday. She checked the weather reports and they all say rain the whole time we're there. So i was just curious are these storms quick ones like i've heard about. Or will it just be raining the whole time i'm there? If it would happen to be raining the whole time does anyone have any suggestions for things to do. As a matter of fact does anyone have any suggestions any ways for things to do. We're staying on the eastside near the yacht club. Thanks in advance for your help. Lee

I assume you're talking about the yacht club on STX. Don't worry about the weather. Any rain will pass fairly quickly. The weather channel, the tv, and the newspaper are all giving different forecasts. Come down, relax, and enjoy our island.

My suggestion would be to book a daysail out of American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook for snorkeling. We took two and I can highly recommend either one. Here are the links:

Try to find your way to Latitude 18 which is an oceanfront casual bar/restaurant owned by the captain of The Alaunt on a night when "Lighting Phil" is playing.

I am sure it will rain the entire day on Saturday... because I am scheduled to be getting married on the beach on STX that day! lol

Praying for clear skies...

Before our trip a couple of weeks ago, the forecast was rain all week. It only rained once the entire 8 days we were there. And it rained the morning we were leaving. And it only rained for about 10 minutes. 🙂 So it wasn't bad at all. Even when it was raining, we sat on the beach and enjoyed the view.

Please IGNORE the forecast. It will rain here everyday somewhere on the island for some vrief period of time. Don't worry about it. You can check any forecast from anyday and it will say HI 88 LOW 78 50% chance of rain partly cloudy partly sunny.

No worries. I wish we had rain my cistern is emptying and the island is drying.
