Access to Oppenheimer Beach

We are on St John right now and drove down to the community center area at Oppenheimer today (the gate was open) to take a look. We would like to know if the gate is open, is day use parking allowable/permitted? Would love a local to weigh in on this! We have always parked to the side of the drive entrance in the past.

No you need to park at the top and walk down - if the gate is open it usually means someone has rented the center for an event.

Just want to second what Pia has already said 🙂 If the gate is open, it's because someone has reserved it, or someone is there doing work.
