I need help! I had a trip planned to St. John a few months ago and had to cancel our reservations due to family conflict with sickness. That crisis had been resolved and I am trying to put this trip back together. Only problem is that I can't find accomodations at this late date. We were originally going to stay at Caneel Bay, Westin or Estate Lindhan and everything is booked now. Can someone give me some pointers. This was a very special anniversary so I want to stay someplace nice and convenient. Hope someone can give me some pointers (especially you Marty since you were so helpful a few months back)!

Hey CJ,
When exactly are you going? Try Gallows (gallowspointresort.com) - we love that place. We had 20 friends stay there for our wedding last year and they all loved it. Good luck

Someone told me this was noisy due to construction or something. Where exactly is this? Is it within walking distance to Cruz Bay?

Hi CJ,
If you click on their website you see Cruz Bay - where the ferries arrive and the town itself, and Gallows are the units right on the point. The walk to town is about 3 mins, and although there is construction going on, on the road to Gallows (the new condo units) we personally have never heard anything - they definately work on island time and you never know when they are going to start up again 🙂 Units number 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 would be noiser (sp) than the others due to the ferries coming and going as of 6 am - some people (if they are light sleepers) it seems to bother, others don't seem to hear anything, but units number 3, 4, and 5 would be my choice. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy anniversary and when again are you going?

Anyone interested in going to st. john should look at this fantastic web site. there are plenty of pictures and the resort is beautiful, although I have never seen it except in the pictures.
