I have reservations for STT the week after Thanksgiving departing from Raleigh-Durham, NC. With the airfare so expensive, does anyone have any suggestions for the cheapest airfare. Thank you.

I will be going down Delta. If you are wanting to bring back liquor, I have found out American will ship it back to states free if you buy it in the airport. Delta does not do this.
At the time I bought, I found Delta to be the best fare without going thru a lot of airports buy you may not have that issue. I went to Delta.com when I bought.

You don't have to buy liquor at the airport for American to ship it as checked baggage at no charge - and better deals on price are generally found at supermarkets and not at the airport. As far as the policy of airlines other than American, this has been brought to the attention of our Delegate to Congress and we hope for a good resolution. Cheers and enjoy your visit!

Thank you for that informaiton. I am glad to hear Delta and other air lines have been brought to the attention of your Congress. I hope for a good resolution as well. It would be nice if it went into effect by 8/1/08. Thanks again.

We're trying to find airfare again and the rates are rediculous.

We do have frequent flyer miles, but can't use them at all. This is for next may.

We want to fly in on a Thursday or Friday and leave on a Sunday. Total of 10 or 11 days. Wanted to do a week on a catamaran.

Will try Kayak, but if anybody has any other ideas, please let me know.

It's frustrating to find a decent airfare or use those miles.

Connie - can you move your return to a weekday? This should help trying to use those miles. We were able to get trips for STX next April using FF miles. We booked early June. Paul and I are flying in on a Wed then he is going home on a Thurs and then the girlfriends are coming down for 7 days then all of us girls are going home the following Thurs. Hopefully, you will have some good luck in May for STT. I finally tried that Yapta site to watch flight prices and I really like it! www.yapta.com

Good luck - hope you can work it out!

:$)Thanks Margy...have thought of everything. We do want to fly in on a Thursday or Friday, stay about 10 days and come home on a Mon, Tues...something like that. Sailing is from a Sat to Sat, so we have to be early and stay longer to get to Tortola.

I've even tried going out of Newark, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Washington, even different places in Florida (Miami, Florida, Fort Myers), only because I thought I would be able to get cheap airfares down to Florida and leave from there.

I'm still working on it. In fact, it's almost become compulsive. If it works out, it works out
