How early should we purchase our airline tickets to vacation on St.John in June 2008? Im afraid to buy them to early as the airlines are well known for cancelling flights or moving you around to something you dont like or want. What are the pros and cons? Thanks Much...

I dont think you can get them this early
If you wait you should be able to find some really good deals
Good luck

We are going in June 2007. We bought our tickets in Sept. 2006. The price hasn't changed too much since.

We bought tickets on Spirit in October 2006 for an April trip. Never did see any lower rates and I kept a pretty close eye on it.

We are going in mid-June and we bought our tickets in October. We bought them for $750 and they are now $956. It looks like the return trip out of STT is just about full which has made the price go up. I would recommend that you keep an eye on the ticket prices and purchase them in the fall. I don't think you can purchase a ticket a year in advance.

I think you can only purchase tickets something like 300 days in advance, tho I may be wrong. We purchased tickets in July for an April trip, and flights went up, then back down but never as low as the day we purchased. In fact it went up $200/ticket a couple days after we purchased them.
