I am so excited about my first trip to the Virgin Island. I am flying in to STT and arrive at 5:40. I had planned to rent a car and then take the ferry to St John. However, I am concerned that may not leave me enough time to catch the last ferry. Can anyone advise me. I arrive on a Saturday.

Thanks, Cherry

You may want to check out the car barge ferry on the top right hand corner of this forum. Looks like you wouldn't make the car barge ferry. You might want to consider taking the passenger ferry and renting a car on STJ. Otherwise you'll have to spend the night on STT with the rented car and catch the ferry in a.m. There are tons of places to rent cars on STJ. I'd highly recommend Courtesy Car Rental. They are great people to work with and you can park in their lot while in Cruz Bay while you shop and hit the local restaurants. They will pick you up at the ferry, take you to your car. Really great company!

Renting a car in STT to vacation in STJ is a good thing to do but problematic if you arrive late or must leave very early and your airline flight conflicts with the barge schedules. Probably best to take Jill's advice. If you want to rent in STT, make sure both your arrival and departure flights give you plenty of time to make it back and forth. One can always spend the night in STT, shop and explore the next day and head over on the barge.

Just make sure when you leave you have plenty of time to catch the barge back and make it to airport with traffic to contend with and be on time for your flight. Mid-day arrivals and departures are the best for the option of renting a car in STT to go over to STJ.
Enjoy your vacation!:@)

I recommend Conrad Sutton in St John.
