How bad is the algae plume now? Does it appear to be dissipating? Bringing friends who have never been to the VI in a week. Really hoping the water is beautiful since we have told them the water is breath taking. We really want that algae gone!

I was in St. John and around Tortola last week and visibility seemed to be getting better. I don't know how long it takes for that to clear. Snorkeling was good in shallower water.

would you not come down if it was really bad? Come down and then deal with it when you get here. First Island way of life, deal with what ever comes and don't worry about things that you have no control over.

By the way I think that it is getting better. In a week or so I think that it will be much much better. And guess what, I did nothing!

I like that "islalnd way of life". I'll have to work on that attitude though, it doesn't come easily.

So glad to hear algae is going away.

they don't know yet how long it will take for the bloom to completely dissipate, but it is most definitely getting better!
