Rain rain go away!!

We woke around 6the am to sunny skies. Dh made a great easter b'fast and the easter bunny visited too!!

Around 830the we headed to sapphire arriving a short time later. Didn't even get lost once! Parked and we were one of the first on the beach!

Bought chairs for $7 each and parked under the mangroves.

Ds and dh played in the sand and we all swam til 11u then the skies opened up 🙁 we waited til 12 under the roof by the dive shop bit finally gave up.

We were so bummer we got rained out!! Such a disappointment. Dh did go snorkeling for a bit and saw some big fish. We cannot believe the state of disrepair sapphire is in. Such a shame. What's the story there?

Last time we were there it was 2005a on our honeymoon (cruise stop).

Drive back was short and wet! We were soaked.

Arrived back around 1230 and it was sunny. Thank goodness. We headed down to pool around 1 but the sun didn't last long 🙁

It rained on and off most of the day. At 4 it poured again so we headed back to condo for appetizers and wine.

Around 5 we headed out to crown bay to tickles. Got lost once but people so nice found it soon after.

Loved seeing all the yachts in the marina. Amazing. There was also a huge cargo ship offloading which kept ds very occupied.

We arrived at 530 and were sat immediately overlooking the water. Thanks to all who suggested tickles! We loved it.

We ordered ckn fingers and drench fries immediately for ds and she brought them right out with our drinks.

Gma and I both got the maui which was excellent - served without rice and grilled veggies for $13. Dh got grilled ckn and potato salad.

We had one wine, two sodas and a coffee. And a piece or great chocolate cake for gma birthday today!

Bill came to $64 which we thought reasonable. We would def recc tickles.

Mahi was served with rice and veggies. Sorry typo.

We then walked along the marina wishing we won the mega lottery last week!

Drove back to bluebeards without getting lost. Saw helicopters and a bunch of yachts in charlotte amalie bay.

Got back around 7 and brought gma stuff down to her condo she has for the week - a studio just below us and just as lovely.

All in all a nice day but wished weather was better. Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer.

We are planning on hitting megans bay early. Let's hope for sunshine!!

Sitting on patio now overlooking yacht haven while ds sleeps in my lap. A perfect way to end the night.

I was down where you were yesterday and chanced into some rain but there was none all day just a couple of miles away where I live. That's normal. Enjoy your visit and save up all the adventures for one trip report when you're done!

Agreed. Gourmet Galley and Marina Market are very convient and surprising well stocked. I don't like hassling with a big market unfamiliar market while on vacation. Really if you are purchasing items for a few meals, the total $$ savings is negible. For longer stays or very big groups, cost-u-less or pueblo is the way to go.

Yes. I have the very same feeling. The beach at sapphire is still lovely. However the beach resort upkeep is just awful. Such a shame to have a run down complex occuping beautiful, shady, breezy strech of beach. Evidently there is some sort of law suit involving the condo owners, the homeowners association, and the resortowners and managers. Hence, the non-maintenance of the common areas and broaded up resturants and other facilites. Hopefully the issue will be resolved before it's too late for al concerned.

Several of the other St Thomas resorts have undergone recent renovations and up grades, so there are alot of really nice places to stay overnight. How are you liking BB's? What do think of the remodle? Is you your condo up-dated? Does your unit have a view? I always loved the pool--breath taking views, nice breezes, mellow-familiy-ish vibe. Would love to hear more about the condo interiors....

it was gorgeous on St John yesterday - sunny, sunny, sunny (and hot) Just goes to show that is can rain over one island and not another (it can also rain on one side of the street and not the other 🙂 )

Hope you have a great day today and for the rest of your vacation.
