Because u all have been so helpful I thought I would share my trip with you! Don't mind the typos im typing on my phone.

We left the hotel in boston on the shuttle at 7 pm and arrived to Logan quickly. Ate breakfast and went throufht security - it was a breeze no line.

On jet blue direct flight at 9 am and landed at bit before 1 pm. Flight smooth no problems and a bonus - ds slept for 2 hours!! Score.

We exited the main terminal, love that's its outside, skipped the run stand 🙁 I got in the hertz line and was quickly serviced. By the time I finished the rental car paperwork dh and gma had the 100 pieces of luggage we brought ready to go with a porters help.

Dh and I walked across street to get car -paperwork nice ford fusion- and wondered how in the hell we were going to fit all the luggage in!!

We drove around the corner on the other side of the road - and picked up gma and ds and our 1000 pieces of luggage. Gma and I ended up with strollers and suitcases on our lap, not a biggie.

Hertz and the parking lot attendant gave us directions to bluebeards and we were off. And it was only 120!!

Thankfully dh drove on the left in our recent caymans trip so he remembered quickly. We arrived at bluebeards castle a quick 10 minutes later and drove up what I think is the steepest hill I ever encountered.

The lobby is lovely and check in was a breeze. By 2 we were in our amazing r

oom condo with full kithen. The did a great job on the refurb.

We unpacked and put away all the food we brought. Got it suits on and by 330 were in the pool with drink in hand!

Ds loves swimming and we started him early (he's only 2.5). Ds (and mommy) instantly made friends with another family from Oregon and we hung by the note t pool til 530u swimming.

I thought the pool bar prices steep on cost and light on rum but enjoyed my mango coladas anyways, dh had a few presidentes and gma gin and tonics.

The hot tub was working now too! Bonus.
Jyy
The view from the condo (villas iii) and the pool deck and resort in general is amazing!!
Back to the room for a few snacks for ds while we got changed to casual wear for dinner at the cabana bar.

Arrived at 6the and ordered 2 wines and a beer and a pizza for ds. We always order his right away. Drinks served within 5 minutes and pizza 10. 🙂

Then we ordered ckn park sandwich fries and big salad for the healthy one (dh).

Food served hot and quick and was very good. Pizza won with ckn park sandwich close second. Salad is salad ... boo to healthy!!

Played $10all in video poker machines with ds while gma and dh finished.
_
Paid check at 645 for $48 left $8 tip. We asked for and he gave us a cup of milk for coffee - thanks!!.

Quick walk back to room where dh and I left ds with gma while we went to pueblo.

Back down the crazy hill ans found pueblo in 5 minutes. Wasn't best grocery but we made do. Only needed a few cold things and booze so didn't take only. We brought most dry goods with us. Didn't find any lunchmeat nice employee told us to go to gourmet gallery tomorrow for that.

After $110 on food ... well really wine beer and booze I wont lie! ...

Back to room by 745 pm to play with ds and put him to bed for 830.

Initial reactions - why do we live in ny? Really? Its beautiful here! So far people have been so nice and helpful. Condo

Condo is amazing. Stove, oven, dishwasher, washer dryer, full fridge. Double balcony over looking yacht haven. Rehab nice job. I would give condo 8 by caribbean standards.

Bluebeards castle is really lovely! Grounds nice lots of patios. Pool great but gets deep quickly. Hot tub great. Pool bar not impressed w bartender or drink prices and little booze.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again just lovely. Ans the views!! Amazing in daylight or night. Views make the resort.

Checked out menus at banana tree and room w a view. A bit pricey but dh and I are going to have a date night at one of them! Thanks to gma.

Will have to look bc I know one of them has happy hour specials on appetizers for $5.

What's on the agenda for today, day 2?

Sapphire beach then dinner, maybe at tickles or fat turtle? Not sure yet.

Will let you all know how it goes and blessed easter to all!!

Sounds like everything is going good for family vaction and you're having fun.

Yes, one thing about Pueblo, if you want freshly cut cold cuts, they don't have. You have to go Gourmet Gallery or the other smaller specialized grocery stores.
Plaza Extra does have cold cuts though.

Wondering where you decided to go for Easter dinner?

Enloy the rest of your vacation 😎

A little off topic but I'm sometimes lucky enough to be in CostULess when some of their packaged cold cuts are nearing the "sell by" date. A couple of days ago I bought half a dozen 8oz packages of "Healthy Ones" sliced Virginia ham for 50 cents each. They freeze beautifully!

STT Res

Great deal on the Virginia Ham :@)

I've had some of the same luck in CostuLess. Also, Pueblo. Just have to be there at the right time.
Just freeze and you're ok.
Not only lunch meats, hot dogs, and butter. Some other items, too.
You would be amazed at what you can freeze, when it is close to the "sell by date".

I tried the packaged smoked turkey cold cuts at CostULess, and they had so much water in them, I'll never eat them again. Just horrible.

I now only get the deli smoked turkey by the pound at Gourmet Gallery. It's very flavorful (though a bit salty, I think), and put it in my lite Alfredo pasta sauce with peas. It's one of my staple dishes! It also makes good grilled turkey Ruben sandwiches with the little rye bread slices.

Thanks so much for your day one trip report, krmlaw. Glad to hear everything is going well. The views at Bluebeard's are absolutely incredible, and it's always nice and breezy up there.

Don't know if Room With A View still has their happy hour specials, but they were delicious when I last tried them. Excellent value, and the view as the cruise ships leave and the sun sets is one of the most beautiful sights on earth!

Nothing against "room with a view", but if for "date night" I'd recommend Havana Blue at the Marriott Moringstar (next to Freachmans Reef). Not that far from your condo. Very swanky (grown-up) and fabulous food. Havana Blue is one of my favorite restaurants in the VI. Have fun.
