This Sunday night.

The Balcony or Zozo's?
Others?
What time is best to arrive?

TIA

Just giving you a bump up! You were stuck between the weather and the KC thread - you could have gone unnoticed for months.....

Bumping again.......the weather is hot, Kenny Chesney has been talked to death, the Charlotte Amalie ferry is discontinued until further notice....and the year old honeymoon thread was brought to the top by a spammer. That's all the news that is news right now....

Now, can someone direct this poor person who is going to have an anniversary dinner in just a few days and keeps getting knocked down by short men, sunshine/heat, and docked boats? Blujahz, wish I could help you....all I can do is help you continue to climb the ladder, though!

You might PM STT Resident - she has a restaraunt on STT and may be able to direct you to a place on Cruz Bay that would be just what you are looking for, if she doesn't see this post.

Sorry, but can't be of much help on STJ. Come on all you STJ residents, frequent visitors and ditto STT people who dine on STJ - give Blujahz some comments here! Blujahz - whatever you choose, best advised to make a reservation just to be on the safe side. Not so much of a problem at most places at this time of year especially if you go earlyish. Sorry I can't be of more help. Wherever you go, have a wonderful dinner and a wonderful trip. Cheers.

I'd go with Zozo's one of our favorites. You can get there around sunset and try to get seated by the bar on second level and watch it sun as it descends over STT. Than lower yourself downstairs for some very good food.

Love the fried calamari appetizer....lots. Love the osso bucco. Good desserts, good atmosphere, good service and good luck on your anniversary evening.

I've heard great things about Zozo's.

I tend to frequent the same spot on STJ - Rhumblines. I have not been to Zozo's, but people seem to love it and rave about it. Of all of the STJ places that people rave about related to romance and fine dining, Zozo's stands out in my mind. I recall people also raved about Tage...but I have not heard much lately.

To add to Blu's comments. It is interesting that over the years Zozo's has been consistent. Why? Who knows. Same chef all the time? But food has been consistent and that's what I like.

/It's all rhetorical

My vote goes to the Stone Terrace. On the rail. Lobster Bisque is phenomenal. Zozo's would be my second choice.

Thanks for the posts and the bump up - I have been reading VINOW for about 18 months.
(along with the Podcast from Paradise, WTSA steaming music, and the on-line STT and STJ local news)

Yes - it is hot/humid.
Yes - we will get rained upon.
Don't care about KC, but I certainly wish there were more live music to catch on STJ.

Had to love the story about "Man Misses Flight..." because of the CA ferry - we got a great laugh about that one. Also, the Town-Hall meeting where nobody showed - too funny.

We are really looking forward to our upcoming visit.

Thanks for the restaurant suggestions - I had forgotten about the Stone Terrace. Been to Rhumblines (and plan to go again), but looking for something a bit more upscale. Will make reservations for sure.

Although I will not argue against Stone Terrace as the food is excellant, I will suggest that the view over Cruz Bay, traffic below, is not the same as the quiet and view from Zozo's.

It's a tossup on food, but view IMHO is nicer at Zozo's.

Zozo's it is - thanks for the responses.

Now if there were only Live local music on a regular schedule...

arg.... Zozo's is closed on Sunday's - drag

That is disappointing 🙁

I need to find another place - the other places (not discussed) that I have listed from last year are:

Asolare
Chateau Bordeaux
Paradiso
Tage
The Balcony

Are they still around? (I recall something about The Balcony being closed). Any new ones?

Chateau Bordeaux is the choice - I hear they are great - and most others seem to be closed on Sundays.
Thanks.

Gotta agree with Bluwater!! Rhumblines has the best food. We went there twice last week. I never, ever eat fish at a restaurant. Not my favorite food, so when I go out I never consider it. But the first time we went last week, my wife had Scott's Sesame Tuna and it was incredible! We went back the second time just so I could order it.

I'm kind of bummed that we're going to have to wait 50 weeks, 3 days and 7 hours until we can have it again!

woogawooga, at least you have a trip planned!! That's more than many can say. 🙁

Yes, Pac rim chic atmosphere at Rhumblines offers a nice variation to other dining options on STJ and STT. We like the Pupu platter...lots of little choices for sharing. We sit at the rope swings at the bar....tiki torches all around when the sun sets.

Servers tend to be a little young --- some needing experience. But, they're a really NICE group of kids. Gotta love them, despite their inexperience.

My son raved about Asolare but both his inlaws, my father and his wife and my husband and I, who all went at different times were disappointed and we definately would not go back after our experience with our waitress. Thought my food at Rhumb Lines was so much better in a better atmosphere. But sorry, didn't go to any of the others you have listed.

We usually hang out on East End. Can you get to Sweet Plantains?

We celebrated our anniversary at Asolare last October....it was great....wonderful food and drinks and one of the most gorgeous sunsets we have ever seen, and we have been married 35 years. Ask to be seated on the balcony and get there before the sunset.....Congrats and enjoy!
